  Miss Kate is wonderful with the students! She allows the kids to explore throughout the day. She is genuine and personal in her interactions with the kids, their siblings, and parents. Our family appreciates the co-op approach, where moms & dads are the teachers too! This interaction with other trusted grown-ups has helped grow the confidence of our 4 year old. We also greatly appreciate the attention to creative arts and interpersonal relationships. We look forward to sending our other two kids in the future!

  We have absolutely loved our experience with Seal Beach Playgroup. From the moment we joined, it has felt like so much more than a preschool. It is a true community built on care, connection, and joy. The teachers create an environment where children feel safe, seen, and genuinely excited to learn. My son has loved his time with Miss Candace and as she transitions into retirement I am especially grateful for my little one to join next year with Miss Kate. She brings such a rare warmth, fun, and magic into the classroom. You can feel how much she loves what she does, and the kids absolutely adore her. Watching the way she connects with the children makes me so confident that my child will thrive under her care. Seal Beach Playgroup is a truly special place, and we feel so lucky to be part of it.

  Enrolling our daughter in Seal Beach Playgroup was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made as parents. From day one, we knew this wasn’t just any preschool—it’s a nurturing, engaging, and thoughtfully run co-op where both children and parents grow. Our daughter absolutely thrived here. Under the guidance of Ms. Candace who pours her heart into every lesson, she blossomed emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Candace’s play-based curriculum is incredibly thoughtful and developmentally appropriate—it encourages curiosity, independence, and creativity in the most beautiful ways. One of the most special aspects of this program is the community. Our daughter made wonderful friendships, and we, as parents, also formed lasting connections. Being part of a co-op meant we got to be hands-on in the classroom and truly involved in her early learning experience. The field trips, themed events, and creative activities were all highlights that added so much magic and fun to each month. Seal Beach Playgroup isn’t just a school—it’s a village. We’re so grateful for the memories made here and will always cherish the impact this community had on our daughter’s early years.

  If you’re looking for a preschool, I couldn’t think of a more incredible experience for your little one. The focus on developing our child’s social and other fundamental skills paired with play and creative ways to get your child engaged in and loving school is unmatched. Every day, my son looked forward to playgroup with joy and excitement. All of the well thought out field trips and outings are another huge plus. I also can’t say enough about the way Miss Candace brings families together to form a wonderful community. Of course you’ll have to put in a little extra effort helping out working in the classroom and with various tasks from time to time but the magical experience your kid gets out of it will pay dividends for the rest of their life. I highly recommend Seal Beach Playgroup!

  None of my children have actually attended this playgroup but I want to share a story. I was here with my kids one day while the playgroup kids were outside enjoying the play equipment as well. I watched a three year old boy being *very* difficult, he was very upset and having a meltdown nearby. Soon I was watching one of the staff who works with this playgroup preschool handle this little boy with the most loving, gentle, knowledgeable, and kind care I've ever seen. This happened about a year ago but I was just thinking about that moment again and decided to come here to write this.
