What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

We love this sweet school. Our first child went for three years and loved it. Now our second is in his second year and the it's the same nurturing caring environment. They literally ask to stay longer at pickup time. Particularly I love the school's balance of early education and play - not overly rigorous but a little learning each day and keeping it fun. The staff is lovely, communicative and caring.
Jordan FerrerFeb 28, 2025We love SOPNS! Our 3.5yo daughter has been there for over a year and we couldn't have better things to say. The teachers and staff are loving and communicative, the campus is safe and well-cared for, and the community of parents is not only friendly but fun. They have super flexible hours and a hot lunch program - both so helpful for busy working parents. Also the drop-off/pick-up situation is easy peasy. TL;DR: our kid has thrived there and I bet yours would too!
Ashlee FloresFeb 26, 2025We couldn't be happier with SOPNS! Our daughter absolutely loves going to school every day—she has so much fun and comes home excited to share everything she's learned. The enrichment programs, like the dance class, add an extra layer of joy to her experience, and she’s constantly surprising us with new things she’s picked up, from letters and numbers to colors and songs. The school incorporates learning into creative activities including many fund art projects! It’s clear that the teachers put so much care into making the environment engaging, educational, and fun. Most importantly, they are warm, loving, and truly make the kids feel safe and nurtured. As parents, knowing that our child is in such a supportive and happy place means everything to us. If you're looking for a preschool where your child will thrive, we highly recommend SOPNS!
David NashFeb 26, 2025My daughter and I absolutely love Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Nursery School. I truly can’t say enough amazing things about this school, my daughter’s teachers, and the entire staff. My daughter is always so excited to go. The school is very clean and kept up. It is full of fun indoor and outdoor activities for the kids. The school also offers a hot lunch program, flexible hours, parents-night-out, parents club, activities during the holidays, amazing fundraisers, and so much more. This school is such a special place. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a cute, fun, educational, and safe place to send their little ones to.
Amanda T.Feb 22, 2025A Warm, Supportive, and Thoughtfully Run Preschool Our child started when he was 2 ½ years old in Miss Blanca and Miss Gilda’s class. Starting in January was tricky since most of the class began in the fall, but the staff and teachers’ caring approach made all of us feel at ease and we fell into the routine quickly. Their support with potty training was also paramount to our son’s learning and ultimately, we feel sped up his learning and adoption process of using the potty both at home and at school. Later we moved up to the Little Stars classroom with Miss Teresa and Miss Leslie, both of whom our son adores and greets them daily with hugs. Drop offs were tricky for maybe a week, the school makes it easier with routines so our child knows what to expect, along with community play, allowing him to see his old teachers and classmates. The teachers are genuine, caring and communicative, giving thoughtful feedback about our child’s progress, even though we try not to ask too many questions and become ‘that parent’ 🚁 ! We appreciate the them sharing the weekly lesson plans, outlining what our boy will be learning. It gives us a chance to reinforce those lessons at home, and we love to see when he surprises us with something new he’s picked up that we know he didn’t learn from us! SOPNS strikes a great balance between structured activities and open play, giving kids plenty of time to explore and socialize. I have really appreciated their attention and response to the ever-changing environmental landscape, like adding air purifiers to each classroom after the fires we experienced earlier this year. Beyond the classroom, the Parents Club is excellent —super involved and always putting on great events for both kids and parents. They also offer onsite childcare for parents night so we can slip off for a cheeky beverage without looking for a sitter. If you need (or want) to keep your child there, they have extended hours from 7am-6pm. We haven’t used the school lunch program, so I can’t speak to that, but overall, SOPNS has been a nurturing, enriching environment for our dude, and we’re grateful to be part of this community! His younger brother will be joining SOPNS in the fall.
Daniel ButcherFeb 21, 2025We love Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Nursery School! Our 2.5-year-old daughter has thrived in their warm, loving environment with amazing teachers who truly care. While we aren’t religious, we’ve found the community to be welcoming and supportive. The play-based program fosters learning, social-emotional growth, and creativity. Plus, the hours are great for working parents! Highly recommend SOPNS to any family looking for a nurturing and enriching preschool.
