  Shining Light Preschool is a true gem in the Tri-Valley. My daughter has grown so much, academically, socially, and emotionally, from her time here. The other morning, I told her that since we had about 20 minutes before I dropped her off, I was going to pull weeds in the garden. She announced that she was going to be a "high-five helper, " (great SLP lesson!!) put on her gardening gloves, and got to work right beside me. I didn't ask for her help; I knew those were the fruits of the outstanding education she is receiving from the teachers and staff at SLP. SLP forms the "whole child." She is quick to point out letters and their sounds, just like they practice at school, and she actually has better handwriting than her siblings who are already in elementary school. Talk about TK and Kindergarten readiness! That isn't even the best part, though. The best part is how they treat each child with the utmost love, care, and respect. The teachers know every child by name and make them feel seen and genuinely cared for. I think that’s why the kids at this preschool are so filled with positive attention and instruction; it simply spills over from their hands into their homes. This is such a special school. It shapes minds and hearts, transforming toddlers into caring, thoughtful, and prepared little kids. I know the lessons they have planted in her heart will take root, providing the strongest foundation for my daughter’s development into childhood and beyond.

  We've loved Shining Light Preschool.  Our oldest attended before he entered kindergarten, and we were excited to have our younger child attend this last year.  They grew academically and socially, and learned of God's love and that each one of us are God's treasures.  The curriculum included fun crafts while learning their letters, numbers, seasons and months. There are fun activities throughout the year for families, like an ice cream social at the start of the school year, a sweet Christmas pageant, and carnival at the end of the school year.  Things run so smoothly given the staff's organization and experience.  The teachers are all very experienced and great with the children. And the school's director, Ms. Kelly, is absolutely amazing.  She is so on top of what's going on in the school, seems to know every student, and family members' names and has a great sense of humor.  She leads chapel, which is a monthly presentation in the church, or the outdoor courtyard during the last 15 min of class where she teaches values in a very fun way, and the kids dance at the beginning and end to Power Shuffle. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend chapel before pick-up.  I also enjoyed the co-op program; as a working parent, I was unsure at first about volunteering in class, but it ends up being about once a month, and I was able to arrange days off, or mornings off to volunteer.  It's so special for your child when you can volunteer in class; it makes them feel special, plus you get to meet their classmates and see what their school day is like. As the co-op you bring the day's snack, help the kids with a craft and anything else the teacher needs.  Our family is so grateful for Shining Light and for the wonderful experience and memories!

  Shining Light Preschool holds such a special place in our hearts. My son Dominic attended for two wonderful years, and he absolutely loved every moment. The staff is truly the best — caring, attentive, and dedicated to each child's growth and happiness. I actually went to Shining Light myself as a child, so it means even more to know my own kids are receiving the same incredible care and foundation. We feel so fortunate to have a place where we know our children are safe, loved, and thriving. This fall, we’ll be sending our 2.5-year-old, and we couldn’t be more excited.   Shining Light Preschool is the best preschool in the Tri-Valley, if you’re looking for a safe, fun & warm environment to prepare your kids for elementary school! My girls loved it here, and I loved how attentive and kind the teachers are. We loved being in the classroom to co-op, and the lovely community of families!
