What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Take a tour! Our family loves being at Skytown. This was our first experience having our son away from us (no sitter, daycare, school) and this gave me the option to finally gain some freedom, but also still be a part of his learning experience through the co-op. It's been comforting to know he is safe and supported at Skytown by child development experts with a strong philosophy, and a community of parents and families with strong values. The care and concern for his food allergies by everyone has also contributed to our sense of safety having him away from us. Beyond all this, my son genuinely looks forward to school and his favorite people now are his teacher, the parents, and his friends! Skytown has become our village - we participate in the classroom together, we play outside of school together, we work on school initiatives together. It's really a unique and special experience and I'm so glad we had this option available to us. Skytown offers the only co-op toddler program (starts at 18mo) in Contra Costa County and is 1 of 2 in the entire East Bay. Like I said there's nothing like it around!
Megan NorthApr 26, 2025It’s a joy to be able to witness the social and emotional growth of my 2 kids in this safe and nurturing environment. I’ve also learned a lot about parenting here which helps at home!
John DoingJan 17, 2025My kid is currently enrolled at Skytown and has been for a year now. I love this place! We were looking for childcare for our 18 month old that was not in home daycare and this seems to be the only option. My kids language and social skills exploded a few weeks after starting. I have also learned so much about parenting through participating in the classroom one day a week and the monthly parent education the school provides. The teachers are absolutely amazing. They are patient and help the children come to their own conclusions and resolutions by giving them space, encouragement, sometimes language and autonomy. I couldn’t recommend it more.
Trevor OrrissJan 9, 2025Our daughter has been a part of the Skytown community for two years, with one more year to go, and we couldn’t be happier. The teachers are beyond amazing – they’re welcoming, thoughtful, nurturing, and so dedicated to their students. The play-based curriculum is exactly what we wanted, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning in the most natural way. Being a participating parent-teacher is a great opportunity to connect with the staffed teachers, other parents, and the kids in such a meaningful way. It’s truly a tight-knit and supportive community. Allison (director) has been an incredible resource, teaching us so much about child development along the way. Her knowledge, guidance, and dedication to every child and family are invaluable. We can’t recommend Skytown Preschool enough – it’s been such a joyful, enriching, and rewarding experience for our family!
Delano WillisJan 9, 2025Love love love this school. It is a great space for our daughter to learn, and we get so much out of it as well as parents. Highly recommend if you want a inside look at your child's development. The teachers are amazing and it's such a sweet caring community!
Katie AghdasiJan 9, 2025Love this place and the new director. Child-led model that encourages kids to be kids! Nurturing and supportive teachers and parent community. Most rewarding part is getting to work in the preschool and watch my kid in action. I've learned so much as a parent by sending my two kids here. Yay Skytown!

Questions parents ask about SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL
Is SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL holds California licence 073408876, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 20, 2019. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL care for?
- SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 36 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL?
- California records 2 inspection visits to SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL, the most recent on May 15, 2024 and the earliest on record July 21, 2021. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by SKYTOWN PRESCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Contra Costa County.
