Our daughter has had such a fantastic experience at Starlight! It has been amazing to watch her confidence grow in who she is as a person and to see her socialize with other local Benicia children and make friends. The group of kids and families at Starlight are all amazing people who are ready to help each other with anything, just a very special community and we’re so glad our daughter has gotten to be a part of it. The teachers are the most kind and gentle humans you’ll ever meet and the children love them! If you’re looking somewhere for your children to thrive/grow and not just be monitored until the end of the day, you couldn’t pick a better place.

Kati KaniaruMay 13, 2026We enrolled our son at Starlight Montessori this January and it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made for him. He looks forward to school every day and has settled in so comfortably. The growth we’ve seen is remarkable — he’s become much more independent and loves taking initiative, which is exactly what we hoped a Montessori environment would nurture. The teachers are warm, caring, and incredibly attentive. They handle emotional moments so gently and actually teach the children how to understand and respond to their own emotions — such a valuable skill. Our only regret is not finding this school sooner! Highly recommend Starlight Montessori for any parent looking to support their child’s overall development.

Watching his confidence grow and seeing him come out of his shell socially has meant more to us than words can fully express. It’s been incredible to witness that kind of transformation. What really sets Starlight apart is the care and dedication of the staff. They are so proactive, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child. You can feel that they truly care—not just about academics, but about your child as a whole person. They work closely with you as a parent and are always there to support your child through whatever they may be going through. Their communication is amazing. When needed, they provide daily updates, which brings so much comfort and peace of mind. It’s rare to find that level of commitment and transparency. I’ve also gained such an appreciation for the Montessori method. Seeing how it encourages independence and self-confidence at such a young age has been eye-opening and inspiring. We are beyond grateful for Starlight. I honestly can’t recommend this school enough.

I have 2 kids with completely different interests, personalities and temperaments— but the Montessori method and wonderful teachers meet each of them where they are at and have helped them both grow immensely. My favorite thing about the whole philosophy is watching my children choose what they want to learn and have space (with support) to master new challenges.

The environment is clean, well-organized and has so many interesting things for the children to do. Do not hesitate to check out Starlight — this is the best place for your kids to start school!
