What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Excellent teachers and staff. Can’t say enough good things about UMP! My son started here at the age of two and stayed through pre-k. If I had to do it all over again I would.
Andrea Konkoly-EverettMar 20, 2026UMP is an AMAZING preschool! We can’t say enough wonderful things about their school and staff. The classroom sizes are small, they are play based, the children get so much one on one attention. I was so impressed with how they interact with every child and how they tailor themselves to be the teacher that their children need. They give so much love and one-on-one attention because of their small size. They offer so many interactive activities for the kids each and every day. I was so impressed when I went for the parent teacher meeting, the teachers had tracked everything our little one had done; they showed us the ways that he was excelling and the things that he was still learning. They are full of positive wonderful people who are there to care for and shape the minds of our little ones. My son was happy and excited to be there from day one. I am never nervous about leaving him there. I know that he is in warm, loving hands. I love all the things they offer for him. They have chapel on Wednesdays, as well as a music class. They engage with them and offer enrichment classes. Their playground is really played in and has so many fun things the kids love to do whether it’s imaginative play, digging in the sand, or playing on the play equipment. Besides that, I also feel very safe there. I love that each and every day I get pictures posted to my brightwheel app of my child throughout the day. We were at another preschool and we would be lucky if we would get one picture at the end of the week. Here I get to see everything he’s doing throughout the day. They also are very quick to answer messages and or phone calls. My only complaint is that they don’t have an elementary school. I am so excited to send my second born here next year. I think what they do is incredible and they deserve so much praise! Thank you for loving my child and making school fun and positive!
Julianna OlsonNov 8, 2024My children attended three different pre-schools in Danville. We started at United Methodist and quickly left after a year. So unimpressed, for several reasons. There are better options in town.
S PApr 1, 2024I am thrilled to share our wonderful experience at UMP. We are entering our 3rd year at the school with two children attending and our 3rd joining soon. It has been the most wonderful and positive experience and I tell everyone I can about this amazing little school. The small class sizes immediately stood out to us – it's evident that each child receives personalized attention, fostering a true sense of belonging. The teachers and staff are truly exceptional, not only in their expertise but in the genuine care they show for every child and family member. The hands-on thematic learning approach is above and beyond and I am blown away week by week with all the things they do. My little ones come home excitedly talking about the engaging activities they did each day, from science experiments to creative art projects that tie into their lessons. What truly sets this preschool apart is the strong sense of community they've cultivated. It's more than just a school; it's a place where the kids feel loved and valued. We couldn't be happier with the decision to enroll our children here – it's a nurturing environment that has laid the foundation for a love of learning and a sense of belonging. We love UMP!!
Jenna D'AngeloAug 17, 2023UMP is the greatest preschool around! Our son thrived there with their mix of play based learning and kind, caring, and nurturing teachers and staff. He was excited to go each morning, learned an incredible amount, and had fun in the process. I will forever be grateful of the experience that we had there. I knew my son was learning and having a great time doing so, but I also knew that he was safe and loved while he was away from the home. We look forward to our daughter being old enough to have the same enriching experience.

Questions parents ask about UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL
Is UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL holds California licence 070201345, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 16, 1975. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL care for?
- UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 50 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL?
- California records 2 inspection visits to UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL, the most recent on July 22, 2025 and the earliest on record June 8, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by SAN RAMON VALLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Contra Costa County.
