What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • No attention to detail has been missed in terms of creating a healthy environment for children AND staff. The school itself is beautifully designed, with unique touches like exposed (but covered and safe) piping so children can see how a house works. The founder Laila is bringing her heart and soul into the school and integrating it into the community.

  • We consider ourselves blessed and fortunate to be members of the Untitled No. 1 community. The love and support our son receives is priceless. He comes home with new and exciting stories about what he's experienced that day and wakes up every morning excited to go see his teachers and friends. From riding the train to receiving his first library card, everyday is a new adventure. Can't say enough about the atmosphere Laila, Sam, Macrina and Amalia have set at Untitled No. 1!! We love it!

  • Our family could not be more thrilled to have found Untitled No. 1!!! This school has everything you would expect and more. The teachers are wonderful, and hands on. The environment is welcoming. Everyday is a new adventure, with out door visits to the local farmers market, and walks to the parks near by. My little one is always so eager to tell me about his day at school. I would highly recommend Untitled No. 1.

  • I previously taught Kindergarten/1st Grade for 17 years with Laila in the same public elementary school, and just visited this new Reggio Emilia approach preschool she was inspired to open from her time teaching at the UCLA Lab School. I visited on Valentines Day and Laila was in the kitchen workshop with one child at a time preparing chocolate hearts to gift to their parents. She made sure children were learning the math and science of the process as well as developing various physical motor skills - so important! As a National Board Certified Teacher of early childhood I could see the hands-on method and inquiry approach utilized, which is most beneficial to their learning. I can't wait for families to see Untitled No. 1 School so they can find out about the exemplary program she and her wonderful teachers create. Make sure to check out this gem!

  • This preschool has it all. Top notch teachers, beautiful and functional rooms with plenty of outdoor space, great lesson plan, and the right mix of free play and structured activities. My son loves being there. Highly recommend.

  • Our family adores Untitled No. 1 preschool. Our 4 yr. old son loves his school, the teachers and his peers. Laila, Sam, Macrina, Amalia, and the other students have quickly become an extended part of our family. There is this cozy, warm, loving vibe that you feel when you meet the teachers and visit the space. I believe it truly feels like a 2nd home to the kids. There are a number of amazing activities that the kids get involved in, but I personally love the community outings, including metro rides to the farmer's markets, Ishihara learning garden trips, library trips, and delivering mail around the neighborhood. We live within walking distance and these kinds of activities really solidify a wonderful community feel for my son. As we make our way around town, he's always talking about this place or that place that he's visited with his teachers. It warms my heart to hear about all the great experiences he's having and to see his delight when he talks about his school. I also love that communication lines are wide open in the community. Laila is great about keeping families informed of varying activities of interest in the community. We have monthly parent meetings, which gives parents a chance to talk and ask questions with the teachers and other parents. Untitled uses the online forum 'Storypark' where we can find information about what the kids are engaged in, as well as see beautiful photos of their interactions. Communication is key with our kiddos and it's valued at Untitled No. 1. All in all I highly recommend this preschool. We are so grateful to have found Untitled:)

Questions parents ask about UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL

Is UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL holds California licence 197493895, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on August 31, 2018. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL hold?

California licenses UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL care for?

UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL is licensed for up to 20 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL?

California records 2 inspection visits to UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL, the most recent on September 30, 2024 and the earliest on record August 6, 2021. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for UNTITLED NO.1 SCHOOL?

The licence is held by UNTITLED NO. 1 SCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Los Angeles County.
