What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

It is 7/10. There were some good teachers (left already) but others are soso. It could be a 8/10 if director cares more about kids than reducing operational costs
Sharing TruthJul 31, 2026Our daughter has been attending the Wonderland Afterschool Program for the past year, and we've had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend it to any family looking for a great afterschool program. One of the biggest conveniences is that they can pick up our daughter directly from her elementary school. The program includes academic classes along with a variety of outdoor sports and activities, including soccer, kung fu, basketball, and outdoor play on their structures. They also have a large outdoor playground where the kids can stay active and have fun. Most importantly, the teachers are kind, friendly, caring, and responsible. They create a positive environment where children can learn, grow, and enjoy themselves. This August, our daughter will be starting 1st grade, and we're looking forward to seeing how the program helps her balance homework with afterschool learning and activities. Based on our experience so far, we're confident she'll continue to thrive. If you're considering an afterschool program, Wonderland is definitely worth checking out!
Grace PeiJul 3, 2026We rarely write reviews, but this school truly deserves one. Before coming here, our son attended another English preschool and had a very difficult experience. He was unhappy, didn't enjoy going to school, and eventually told us he didn't want to go to any school anymore—especially not an English-speaking school. A friend recommended this preschool, so we decided to give it a try. What surprised us was that after just one trial day, he came home and said: "Mom, I want to go back to that school. I really like it there." That was the first time we had heard him say something positive about school in a long time. Because of how much he liked it, we decided to transfer him here. To be honest, I was initially concerned because it is a bilingual Chinese-English preschool. We had previously tried another bilingual program where English exposure was very limited, and I worried his English development might slow down. Fortunately, that was not the case at all. The English teachers speak excellent English, and the children receive plenty of English exposure throughout the day. Over time, we saw his English improve significantly while he also maintained and developed his Chinese. These days, he will sometimes speak English to us at home without being prompted. What impressed us even more was how the teachers handled his separation anxiety. When he first started, drop-offs were difficult. There were many mornings when we had to hold him, comfort him, and help him through the transition. The teachers were patient, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. They took the time to understand him, help him make friends, and build his confidence. Little by little, things changed. One day, after being at the school for a while, he told me: "Mom, I want to be the first one at school." As a parent, that moment meant everything. Today, he happily goes to school, has close friends, enjoys learning, and talks positively about his teachers and classmates. Beyond the teachers, there are many practical things we appreciate as parents: * The school app provides daily photos and videos, which gives us peace of mind and helps us stay connected to his day. * Tuition is reasonable compared to many other preschools in the area. * They provide lunch and two snacks every day. * They offer summer camp, backup care, and after-school options, which has been incredibly helpful for working parents. * The school closes less often than many other programs, making childcare planning much easier. * Recently, when the school was scheduled to close for Juneteenth, they listened to parent feedback and arranged affordable backup care for the day, which we really appreciated. * The outdoor playground is large and allows children plenty of time to run, play, and burn off energy. * They also have a spacious indoor activity area for rainy days or very hot weather. * The school often goes above and beyond in small ways, such as providing printed graduation photos and keepsakes for families at no extra cost. Looking back, enrolling our son here was one of the best decisions we made during his preschool years. Most importantly, this school helped transform a child who didn't want to go to school into a child who loves going to school. For that, we will always be grateful.
L LJun 17, 2026I have two kids graduated from Wonderland. Teachers here are extremely caring. I always appreciate the love and education that my kids got here. The tuition is reasonably low in this area.
Kan HuangNov 19, 2024I am thankful to all of the people at Wonderland and would recommend Wonderland without any hesitation. Teachers are skilled and experienced, passionate about their work, and genuinely care about the kids. My daughter is "slow to warm" and very sensitive. They did amazing job helping my kid 2.5yr transition. Miss Mary and Miss Ellen will always pick my daughter up and hold them till she feels comfortable and safe. Teachers know every kid’s personality and traits. They tell me how my daughter is doing during the day and what suggestions they might give when getting back home. Miss Liu takes excellent care of the kids. My daughter had a hard time to take a nap after lunch. She makes sure my daughter eat well and sleep well. They always keep working to improve what they are doing, from hardware to software, from the facilities to curriculum etc. They listen to parents’ feedback and always try their best accommodate to parents’ request. They are very responsive and responsible to the suggestions. I am not looking for academic school. I hope my kid could learn and play and make friends. I am excited to find my daughter has learned so much in Wonderland.
Shawn LiuJul 17, 2013This school change owner 3 years ago! Don't know how it was 5 yrs ago but my daughter has been there almost 2yrs ago (2011), SHE LOVES IT! :) She learned so much every day, always surprise us with something: tell stories in Chinese and English in long sentences, new dance and songs almost every week, handmade "art work" ;-) everyday, and as a 3 yr old now she can count to 100 item! She can also spell words and some simple characters! As a matter of fact, I'm one of the paranoid parents :) We visited 12 daycare centers all over Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Cupertino, Los Altos, including home based care, before we choose them! For us, we only care about two things -- hardware and software of the facility ;-) -- They have an acre of land in Cupertino -- huge playground, kids can actually play, and the tricycles can go around in real circle. We've seen much newer schools but the playground for 1-3 yr old is so tiny compared with theirs. Their rooms are not very new but very cozy and fun. The newly renovated hall (used also for after school kids) is great for the parties and kids performance. -- Software part matters more from our perspectives -- the teachers are awesome! I mean all of them! Our girl loves them and hugs and kisses every teacher goodbye everyday! They have English and Chinese teachers for each classes: Mary, Becky, Ellen, Ting -- I can't say enough about how great they are! I talked about the academic progress our girl made along the time there, here are some examples that we are impressed by the teachers regarding the life part: Our girl is very sensitive to new environment and at the beginning she cries a lot, I see the teachers hold her and calm her down for a long time until she's fine. Our girl is not a good eater, I see the teachers feed her when she really eat too little at lunch (I saw it when stop by and they treat all the kids with this much care!) When parents take snacks and fruit to school, the teachers not only make sure giving to them, I saw the teacher peal the fruit for them -- some to them is really a lot of work, like lychee! (I feel guilty to bring this type of fruit... :S) Anyway, in one sentence -- they raise my kid the way I'd like to do it myself, and better (like social environment I can't provide) -- what else a parent would ask?!

Questions parents ask about WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL
Is WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL holds California licence 434412166, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on March 16, 2012. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL hold?
- California licenses WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL care for?
- WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL is licensed for up to 55 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL?
- California records 4 inspection visits to WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL, the most recent on October 22, 2025 and the earliest on record March 3, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL?
- The licence is held by WONDERLAND CHINESE SCHOOL, INC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Santa Clara County.
