  We feel so lucky to have found this preschool. It’s run by an incredible group of women who are not only caring and attentive, but also extremely professional and organized. The program strikes such a great balance between structure and fun—our son loves the special activities like picture days and school performances, and we love how thoughtfully everything is planned. The Montessori approach has been amazing to watch in action. Our son has truly blossomed—he’s more confident, curious, and independent than we could have imagined. We also deeply appreciate that the teachers speak Spanish with the children, giving them exposure to another language in such a natural way. One of the things that matters most to our family is how inclusive and welcoming the school is. It’s a genuinely LGBT-friendly environment where all families are respected and celebrated, and that means everything to us. We couldn’t recommend this preschool more highly.

  We couldn’t be happier with our experience at The Woods Montessori Preschool! From the moment we walked in, we felt a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made us confident we were making the right choice for our child. Miss Rafa and Miss Jennifer are truly exceptional teachers. They are patient, nurturing, and bring so much positive energy into the classroom every day. Their passion for early childhood education shines through in everything they do. They take the time to truly know each child, offering gentle guidance and encouragement that helps build confidence and a love for learning. The classrooms are bright, clean, and thoughtfully arranged to foster creativity, independence, and exploration. There’s a perfect mix of structured learning and play, and it’s clear the environment has been designed with young learners in mind. The curriculum is incredibly well-developed a wonderful blend of academic readiness and social-emotional learning. From story time and hands-on science activities to music, movement, and outdoor play, each day is filled with engaging, age-appropriate experiences that support the whole child. A special shoutout to the amazing owners, Ms. Laura and Ms. Rosa, who are always on top of every situation. Their leadership, love for children, and dedication to building a nurturing, high-quality preschool is evident in every detail. Their vision and care are what make this school feel like a second home for our family. We’ve seen so much growth in our child — both socially and academically — and are so grateful to be part of such a caring and inspiring school community.   This place has been a blessing since I first found it originally for my son. They integrate Spanish in their daily interactions and have a phenomenal summer camp/program. I have my daughter enrolled there as well. They both enjoy going to school and the teachers do their best to manage my rather short attention spanned son. Glad I found somewhere I have peace of mind that my minis are safe at and enjoying. I love the picturest/videos they send as well.

  We have been so pleased with the care and support provided to our daughter at The Woods over the past 4 years. The owner and staff members are all very kind and compassionate.   I had an amazing experience with The Woods of Montessori in La Mesa. The teachers are amazing! They really care about the students. The director is highly knowledgeable about child development and interpersonal skills. She plays a huge role with the academics and activities. The school goes above and beyond to prepare activities for the children and provide opportunities for parents to get involved. My child attended two other preschools with big names before starting here but struggled because he is neurodivergent. He was successful at this school and thrived so much. Also, I don’t know how they do it but they have no bullying. They teach the children to be respectful to one another. It truly is a safe place for children. Last but not least they are really clean. This is a huge deal because it means no sick days. Our child was frequently sick at the other preschools I had to take so much time off. Since our child’s enrollment two years ago he had only two sick days. As you can see I have nothing but positive things to say about this school.
