We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Alaya. Our daughter has grown so much in confidence and social skills since starting here. She’s made sweet, kind friends, and we love how much time the kids spend playing outside and being active. The community feels warm, nurturing, and joyful—exactly what we were hoping for. Alaya is a truly special place that supports kids in becoming their best selves, and it absolutely deserves to be protected and preserved for future families. Help Fund Alaya!
ryan potvinJun 4, 2025Our family cannot recommend Alaya Preschool enough for those seeking a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment to begin their child’s school journey. When exploring preschool options in the area, we placed a high value on outdoor time—but felt that a fully outdoor school wasn’t the right fit for our family. One of the things that truly sets Alaya apart is its expansive, shaded play yards—each thoughtfully designed for different age groups. The classes spend as much time as possible outside, which we deeply appreciate. We also love that Alaya meets each child where they are. The teaching approach is organic and balanced, drawing inspiration from Waldorf, Montessori, and Buddhist philosophies. The school offers just the right mix of structure and flexibility, creating a grounded and supportive environment not just for the children, but for parents and families as well. Boulder is fortunate to have many wonderful preschool options, but Alaya stands out as an extraordinarily magical place. The teachers and staff are truly exceptional—they’ve become a cherished extension of our family nest and caregiving circle.
Maddie PotvinJun 2, 2025Alaya is a very special place. We feel so lucky we found it when looking for preschools online. My daughter went from crying every morning when going to her previous preschool to asking me to go to school even on the weekends. The teachers are very loving and engaged, and I feel that it really contributed to her emotional growth. We will definitely miss this community now that my daughter is going to elementary school.
Mariana FonsecaMay 21, 2025My son attended Alaya Preschool for two wonderful years, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience he had. From the moment we joined the Alaya community, it was clear that this was a place full of warmth, care, and genuine love for children. His teachers were incredibly nurturing and truly devoted to his growth, focusing on his emotional and social well being. Over time, I watched him blossom into a confident, independent child who learned to advocate for himself and form meaningful friendships. The school’s nurturing environment made all the difference. It’s a place where children are truly seen, supported, and celebrated. Alaya gave my son a strong, beautiful foundation, and I’m so thankful we chose this preschool.
Shane MatthewsMay 21, 2025This preschool is magical! We looked at a lot of different preschools for our twins and we couldn’t be happier that we picked Alaya. The teachers are exceptional. The school emphasizes kindness and awareness and each child is truly seen and appreciated for who they are. Alaya has been a true gift in our lives.
Rachel LitseyMay 20, 2025One of the best decisions we ever made! I was nervous to send my daughter as a two year-old full-time after she had been home for her first two years of life. Now finishing the school year and looking forward to two more years, she is a part of the most nourishing, spirited, creative, and loving community. Alaya prioritizes creative play, social-emotional learning and intelligence, and truly learning to become a compassionate citizen. When they say that early childhood years plays a deep foundational role in one's life, I could not be happier with my daughter growing up in the Alaya community.

Questions parents ask about ALAYA PRESCHOOL
How many infants and toddlers can ALAYA PRESCHOOL take?
- Colorado licenses ALAYA PRESCHOOL for 10 toddlers. These are the bands the state publishes separately and they do not add up to the licence total, so treat each as its own ceiling. A licensed place is not the same as an open place, so ask about current availability.
Who can help me find child care near ALAYA PRESCHOOL?
- ALAYA PRESCHOOL sits in the area covered by the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County and the referral agency ECC Boulder Co. Colorado funds these bodies to help families find and pay for care locally, and they can answer questions about openings and cost that a licence record cannot.
Does ALAYA PRESCHOOL accept CCCAP child care assistance?
- The state record does not show ALAYA PRESCHOOL authorised for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program. Authorisation is county-administered and can change, so confirm with the provider and your county office.
