  • I was working in the area and just wanted a gym with day passes. The pool area was pretty loud with screaming kids (it was summer break after all). Locker area was mostly kept up. A little bit of daily drama going on. If you’re on a budget and just want a basic gym it’s worth the money. If you have kids and want to entertain them also worth a day in the pool.

  • My friend likes to go here as a resident, im two blocks out of the district and usually go else where. My 1st visit with my friend here i called ahead of time to make sure the lap lanes were open and when they closed. We showed up at 530 expecting them open tell 8 as told on the phone. Unfortunately they had swim lessons at 6 and we were only halfway through our swim and forced out of the lap lanes. Expecting nothing on the way out i spoke with the desk and he said he wasn't aware as well and gave me a pass to come back. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE... THANK YOU!!!! Please do better at updating your front desk on these daily events to avoid such issues the guy next to us was annoyed also and he had literally just got in the pool. Maybe a lap pool schedule posted on a board by check in be helpful. Next time ill check the website also i guess but I prefer to just call. Anyway mistakes happen that's life right!! its how we handle them that makes all the difference.. thanks again ill be back more than once i had no idea you guys had a wave pool the kid will love it..

  • Best Recreation center I have used. Great gym and the guest using the gym are very kind. I sometimes ask advice about lifting or an exercise and everyone suggests something to help me. Shaun at the front desk is outstanding! Guy needs and deserves a raise. Great pool. The center even had a wave pool! Great Lazy river as well. Try this recreation center as soon as possible. I have seen some real ballers on the basketball courts. Even the classes look fun.

  • UPDATE: 7/12/26 1 am extremely displeased to learn of Elgin leaving Central rec center!! I will not be renewing my membership when it expires in four months. What is wrong with the City Of Aurora?!? Pay your employees what they deserve so they will stay. SHAME ON YOU! Elgin is THE BEST trainer / Bootcamp instructor I have had in over a decade (possibly ever). His workouts are so simplistic and insanely effective! Especially when dealing with people’s bodies who are injured easily. Elgin has saved my body for multiple years now from injury and has helped me to maintain consistency within my physically demanding job. If Elgin ever leaves, I will be canceling my membership for the rec centers. I truly really hope this rec center values such an amazingly knowledgeable, dedicated and caring employee!!! Thank you Elgin for your consistent devotion to not only your classes, but your clients! We truly do value your commitment and sacrifices!!

  • I visited the ARISE program at the Aurora Recreation Center to inquire about accessible summer camp options for my child with special needs. We were assisted by Brea, who was extremely kind, welcoming, and patient. She took the time to explain all the program and summer camp options in detail and made sure all our questions were answered clearly and thoroughly. Her supportive attitude made a big difference in our experience. She made us feel comfortable and included, and for the first time I felt confident and excited about enrolling my child in the program. I truly appreciate her professionalism and kindness. It was a very positive experience overall.

Questions parents ask about Central Recreation Center

Who can help me find child care near Central Recreation Center?

Central Recreation Center sits in the area covered by the Arapahoe County Early Childhood Council and the referral agency Child Care Innovations. Colorado funds these bodies to help families find and pay for care locally, and they can answer questions about openings and cost that a licence record cannot.

Does Central Recreation Center accept CCCAP child care assistance?

The state record does not show Central Recreation Center authorised for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program. Authorisation is county-administered and can change, so confirm with the provider and your county office.
