From our experience this has not been a good daycare for my family. My grandson has come home numerous times saying the kids are mean to him and his teacher has hit him. My grandson has been sent home for being too silly!! Is discluded from singing performance because he is too silly!! He's just being a kid obviously this daycare must want the children to be robots!
Jennifer RamirezMar 8, 2019So there are a few things about this school that made me uneasy. First that they have no form of security to keep an intruder or unauthorized personnel from entering the school. When I asked about it, the director just dismissed my question. My husband also witnessed a little girl just letting herself out the front door wondering in front of the school, teachers not having a clue. When my husband pointed it out to the director she said "Oh the teachers know," "its okay she's 5," "was she on the path or parking lot?" She was trying to justify a little girl walking out the front door. It was very apparent the teachers had not idea where she had gone. When my kid started attending already being potty trained, it took three weeks for the teachers to figure out that he uses the potty. They just weren't very active in potty training when we had no issues in public or at home. Teachers who swore to have "years of experience" after a month had no clue what to do with my son who just turned "3." I was called to pick him up on several occasions because they couldn't handle my son. They had constant issues putting him down for his nap, even though me, sitters, his current school has no issues what so ever. I've witnessed kids be reprimanded if they are too silly with friends, a little to loud, and just being kids. They want all the children to be little robots to sit quietly and play with their blocks. No wonder why my son got bored and acted out. The kicker was at the parent-teacher conference they couldn't tell me how my son was doing holding a pencil to write, but the director (unqualified to give this opinion) suggested to have my son "again just turned 3" evaluated for ADHD. To me that says, "yes because you can't or don't want to deal with my son lets have him medicated so your job is easier." I don't believe this is a true Montessori school, to be a true Montessori school all the teachers should be AMS or AMI certified. My son is at a new place where is thriving and is so much happier.
Flowsters BmanApr 25, 2018My grandson attended this preschool. The ratios seemed high, children were often crying or in time out. The staff did not seem to be qualified or experienced. My grandson always cried when dropped off and the staff was not responsive. And the kids watched tv...
Chelsea HillNov 1, 2017We Love this school!! Both my girls have attended Discovery Montessori and we have been thrilled with the Montessori foundation they recieved. Our oldest entered Discovery as a very shy 3 year old and emerged as a confident learner and was fully ready for Kindergarten at 6. We made the decision to give her a extra year of Discovery Montessori Preschool and send her to Kindergarten at 6 instead of 5 and we are so very thankful for this school and that decision. Our 4 year old is currently in her second year at discovery and we will also be giving her the gift of a 3rd year of Montessori before entering Kindergarten. Thank you Discovery for all that you do!

mike wardDec 4, 2016My 2.5 yr old daughter is doing very well going to this school. Horseback riding, bicycle days, art projects and the interaction with others play a huge part in her healthy development.

Questions parents ask about Discovery Montessori
How many infants and toddlers can Discovery Montessori take?
- Colorado licenses Discovery Montessori for 18 toddlers. These are the bands the state publishes separately and they do not add up to the licence total, so treat each as its own ceiling. A licensed place is not the same as an open place, so ask about current availability.
Who can help me find child care near Discovery Montessori?
- Discovery Montessori sits in the area covered by the Early Childhood Council of Larimer County and the referral agency ECC of Larimer County. Colorado funds these bodies to help families find and pay for care locally, and they can answer questions about openings and cost that a licence record cannot.
Does Discovery Montessori accept CCCAP child care assistance?
- Yes. The state record shows Discovery Montessori authorised for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program. Authorisation means the provider can accept CCCAP families, not that it has a funded place open now, so ask before you apply.
