Miss Amy taught my son in the past, and three of my grandsons have attended, with two currently enrolled. It’s been amazing to see the consistency in care, learning, and genuine kindness from the staff. Miss Amy and the teachers create such a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe and supported. I highly recommend this preschool
Kristina KortgaardApr 25, 2026Miss Amy's preschool is an amazing program. I have one child who has graduated from this school, one currently attending and a third going in a couple years. All of the teachers here take pride in working here and in what they do every day. They love & treat the kids as if they are their own. Having worked in licensed preK & school aged programs in the past, I know how vigorous the staff work to keep up with their ongoing education and then implementing those skills into real life. In some way, I see the staff implementing those skills at least once daily @ pick up or drop off. We get pics of how their day is going and communication is so easy. Amy and her staff are the most down to earth, normal & loving staff you could want watching your child. Amy's Preschool is the most well oiled machine you'll find in the area. If you think you'll get 'better' somewhere else, good luck!
Sarah ClelandApr 23, 2026Miss Amy’s Neighborhood Preschool has been an absolutely wonderful experience for our family. Miss Amy is truly amazing. Her warmth, patience, and dedication shine through in everything she does. The preschool creates such a loving, supportive, and kind environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. It’s clear that so much care goes into building a strong sense of community here. We couldn’t be more grateful to be part of this special place and highly recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing and positive preschool experience.
Allison GubanichApr 23, 2026I am writing to offer my wholehearted recommendation for Amy as a preschool teacher. Having been part of our community for decades, Amy has made an extraordinary and lasting impact on countless families, including my own. Amy taught all three of my children, who are now grown adults, and I can say with confidence that her influence helped shape their early love of learning and confidence in the classroom. She has a remarkable ability to connect with young children, making each of them feel seen, valued, and capable. Her classroom is a place of warmth, structure, and encouragement—an environment where children thrive both socially and academically. What sets Amy apart is her genuine care for her students and her dedication to preparing them for success in elementary school and beyond. She understands the importance of early childhood education and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her students develop foundational skills, curiosity, and a positive attitude toward learning. Beyond her teaching ability, Amy is a pillar of our community. Her decades of service have touched thousands of children and families, creating a legacy that is both rare and deeply meaningful. I cannot recommend Amy highly enough. Any school or program would be incredibly fortunate to have her as part of their team.
CLAUDIA EVERHARTApr 23, 2026If I could post zero stars I would! If you value your child’s safety and health, look elsewhere. Our experience has been a nightmare of gaslighting and professional negligence. 1. Failure to Enforce Health Policies: Despite a written '48-hour symptom-free' rule, the Director (Amy) knowingly admits children with severe, hacking coughs. When confronted, she dismissed our concerns as 'natural exposure' and told me my family’s immune system simply couldn't handle the winter. My infant at home has been sick for half of his life because the staff refuses to turn away symptomatic children at the door. 2. Physical Safety & Lack of Supervision: My daughter came home for three consecutive weeks reporting she was being hit and pushed. The school never reported these incidents to us once. In a separate incident in August, she came home with a significant scratch on her face; the teacher admitted in writing she 'forgot' to tell me. When we brought the three-week pattern of hitting to the Director's attention, she dismissed a toddler sobbing about being bullied as a lack of 'spatial awareness,' minimizing physical bullying as 'developmental.' 3. Massive Licensing Failures: Beyond safety, the administrative oversight is non-existent. I have documented that for five months (November to April), my child was never properly signed in or out of the building. This is a severe state licensing violation that puts every child at risk in an emergency. 4. Unprofessional Leadership & Bullying Tactics: The most alarming part is the Director's response to accountability. When we raised these safety and health concerns, her response was an ultimatum: 'Unenroll today' or stop complaining. She uses unenrollment as a weapon, suggesting it not once, not twice, but three times instead of addressing a child being hit or the spread of major viruses. She is a bully who uses the threat of ending childcare as a means to shut up involved parents. It is a defensive, retaliatory approach to business that has no place in early childhood education. The management is defensive, dismissive, and lacks the basic transparency required to run a safe facility. It's truly devastating when you send your most precious tiny humans into someone's care and it leads to this. A preschool is a place where you should feel like your child is safe and being cared for as you would, and this was not the case for us. Between the lack of daily updates (potty, eating, socializing, incidents) and how Amy handled my concerns, we unenrolled immediately. We strongly caution any Frederick/Firestone/Dacono families to stay away.
Jessica WillsApr 23, 2026My granddaughter started at Miss Amy's this fall. She had been home with Grandma since she was tiny, so this was a big change for her. The teachers were terrific in helping her get used to being on her own without her parents/grandparents, and after only a couple of sessions she loves it. She gets up in the morning so excited to go, and she comes home chattering about all the great things they did. Her teachers are so kind and lovely, and you can tell that they have a lot of experience doing this and they really love what they do. It's a great place for kids, and even better that it's a small, locally owned business.
