This is an outstanding place for a young child. Very nurturing, calm, creative, and lots of love. The staff are super kind and do a good job of holding boundaries, tracking safety, while creating time and space for kids to be kids. It's more expensive than some alternatives, but it's definitely worth it... and the school offers tuition assistance programs (CCAP, UPK, work trade) that can help.
Noah Cecil-BruceAug 18, 2026The magic of Waldorf shines bright at River Song. Our first daughter, after leaving a chain day care, absolutely blossomed with Ms. Shana in Sun Garden. She went on to Elderberries / Forest Kindergarten in her year before starting public school, too, and the transition to a more academic setting was very smooth. She grew and changed so much over her three years at River Song, and we’ve adored being a part of this wonderful community. Our second daughter is starting this fall and we couldn’t be more excited.

The teachers balance a unique and special skillset of nurturing imagination, compassion, emotional intelligence, and a connection to nature. The science of the daily Rs (rhythm, ritual and repetition) is a work of art that brings it all together. Our experience at River Song in both the preschool and kindergarten classes is one we will always cherish.
