  • My son went here this summer- it was his first overnight experience. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The counselors were incredible. Kind, attentive, sweet and great at supporting the building of friendships. The communication from camp was great from end to end. My son grew so much and wants to go back.

  • My favorite memories are all from Sanborn. It gives you so many opportunities to do everything, from summiting mountains, to mountain biking, to horse back riding. It gives yourself so much self-confidence and made me a better person.

  • I haven't been since I was in the 7th grade ( summer of 2000) so I can only hope its stayed the same but one can never forget a five day horseback trip or ascending to 14,000 ft up a mountain. The vibe at the chowhall was amazing. If you drop a dish or silverware on the floor everyone cheers. Everytime I think about that I smile (and also carry on the tradition by myself making everyone uncomfortable when we go out). Definitely one of the best experiences of my childhood.

  • My son went to camp in 2021 for 4 weeks. When we arrived the nurses removed my son’s allergy medication. A week later they called saying he had spent 2 nights already at the health center in isolation with 102 fever. I asked them if they had tested him for Covid, they replied that in their state they were not required to test anymore, that if I wanted that they could take him to the towns ER and test him. His fever was coming down. They wouldn’t let me talk to him to see how he was doing emotionally. It still feels awful. He slept outside, which is not clearly stated and was made to hike while not feeling well. When he arrived home we tested him and he in fact had Covid. And we all know what that strains your health. I feel like they were negligent and to this day I feel like that experience traumatized our family. I wouldn’t recommend.

  • After 4 summers as a camper and one as a counselor, my son went this year for the time. Sanborn remains a transformational experience and so thrilled that Ariella has continued the great educational tradition. Sanborn is a special, magical and amazing place which deserves to be shared and honored!

  • Sanborn is a magical place. I went here as a camper, and my child goes here now. The camp is an inclusive community that embraces people of all shapes and sizes, It is a great program — it helps a camper with emotional and mental connections to a others and it also builds up a child’s strength and outdoor skills. It is a relaxing program and a difficult program, it challenges the campers… but for my money, kids need this. At Sanborn, there’s plenty of time to relax in a calm vibe and enjoy the mountains… but more important, kids are encouraged to get up, get ready for adventure, buckle on a pack or tack up on a horse and explore.
