  • Nido has been a wonderful “nest” for our family! We saw such incredible development in our son during his 3+ years there - socially, emotionally, and academically - that enrolling our daughter was an easy choice. The Spanish immersion has been a huge bonus and helped prepare the foundation for our son to attend preK in Spanish. The director is always communicative and works with each family closely to make sure all needs are being met. The staff are warm, nurturing, and genuinely invested in each child’s growth. You can really feel how much they care about creating a loving, engaging environment for the kids to grow. We’re so grateful to be part of the Nido community!

  • We’ve seen so much growth in our daughter since she started at Nido! The Nido staff is so loving and caring you can tell they truly enjoy what they do. My daughter literally jumps for excitement when it’s time to go to Nido. The Nido staff does a great job engaging the kids, building social and motor skills, and the Spanish immersion has been such a bonus. Cecilia and the team always keep us updated, which we really appreciate. Our little one is always excited to go, and that says it all. Nido is such a gem and the perfect place for any family looking for a nurturing and joyful environment!

  • We love Nido! We sent our son from 6 to 18 months, and unfortunately had to leave because we moved out of town. The staff is so nurturing and truly cares for the children. Our son learned so much during his year there, and we were so sad to leave. We highly recommend Nido!

  • I don’t know who is at the front desk but when I called to seek prenatal resources for mat risk women’s group and classes to help with a newborn, the lady laughed and asked was I pregnant or had a baby on the way when she could’ve just said I called a daycare instead, but she proceeded to ask me unconventional questions for a laugh such as “are you pregnant now” “why do you need to take classes?” And again “why do you need classes if you are not pregnant”. Complete discouraging call for anyone looking for help and being shamed because you want to be prepared.

  • Nido is wonderful, and we're thrilled to have our little one there (started at 6 months, now ~17 months). Founder & director Cecilia has a strong vision of what she wants Nido care to be: focused on development, through warm responsive interactions with teachers, steady routines, and a variety of activities and objects to explore. She takes a hands-on approach to training and supporting her staff to bring this every day to the kids. We get detailed daily reports, photos a few times a week (more if we ask for them), informal chats at pickup. Like the other reviews, our kid is happy to go there every morning, and her first several words have all been in Spanish! Given COVID, we hesitated to send our then-infant to daycare during the pandemic, but Nido's precautions have been in line with DCPS and quite good so far as we know (e.g. outdoor masked pickups & dropoffs, negative test required for return after travel; staff quarantining at first sign of symptoms). The parents' chat group has helped reinforce responsible precautions by families; we all get how disruptive it is to keep a child home unexpectedly. Generally we feel like Cecilia and the teachers at Nido are our kid's other parents, and the other families our extended family in the neighborhood, whom we trust and are grateful for.

  • My son has made tremendous developmental strides at Nido and loves all of the teachers. He is happy to go each morning and we feel lucky to have found such a loving and nurturing environment! I would highly recommend Nido to any parents looking for daycare.
