Our child started as a Star at 3 years old and he has flourished over the past year. Teachers are experienced guides in accordance with a Reggio-inspired education. We're continuously impressed with the knowledge, and social and conversational skills, he brings home on a regular basis. Communications with staff are great, and kids get to spend a ton of time outdoors. We could not be happier with Takoma Children's School and are looking forward to sending our other child there next year.

The teachers are remarkable, and the Reggio philosophy of treating kids as capable and competent is more than just an ideal -- we truly feel it in the way that the teachers interact with the students and in the ways the students are empowered to choose their activities. TCS has done a terrific job of fostering our kid's independence and self-reliance, while also teaching really important communication and social skills.
