I don't usually post reviews, but after reading some of the reviews I have had nothing but good experiences at this school. My husband and I have been looking for a place for our 2 and 3 year old for awhile and the staff here is very nice and the building is clean. I like that the kids were uniforms and the staff dress professionally. The administrator seems very nice and my kids seem to like it a lot. I am very happy with the service that my family has received and my kids get lots of love when they leave. They say they have to see the principle and get a hug. I would highly recommend this center and my sister will be touring there too.
Caitlyn MorganFeb 22, 2019Terrible Place, at 5M and as little as 3weeks in at this daycare my child got Bronchitis because of the dirty stuff animals they allow the infants to play with. The infant room is the size of a closet so germs are easily caught. *update*To the response below, I stand by the fact that your facility had stuff animals in the infant room and my child got sick from it. To the people that are looking at this daycare and are taking the time to read this review They are picking and choosing what to tell you. In this skewed respone. There is more to the story like the fact that they changed the policy over night to not administer medication to children under 24m. I thought this daycare was working with me as an extension of me since I have to go to work and provide for my family, this was not the case. This place made me feel like I had no control over my child in there care. Bottom line is that there are better daycare facilities in Delaware. I'm glad we severed ways since I was at there mercy. I haven't had any issue with daycare since we left this facility.
Cara BlosserAug 13, 2018@Kevin E. & N. Ross Please do not post false statements in order to justify your decision to depart. I believe us terminating service was a mutual agreement and best for both parties due to a lack of trust as you stated in your email. We not only have an obligation to the students in our care for safety, nurturing, and security, but we also have an obligation to our staff to ensure that they are not negatively impacted by false allegations. I will also like you to refrain from saying that Mrs. Janice berate her staff over the radio because that is also a false statement and is only used for defamation of character. Especially, when your only there for drop offs and pickups of your child in which Ms Janice is not usually present due to having multiple locations. The employee that left was due to personal reasons confidential to that staff member and had no relation to you to tell you and would not have disclosed any personal information as that staff member was no longer your child's teacher. You have also called the state, which they have no disciplinary actions because your complaint is not valid or substantiated. If you continue to publish false statements online, email, text or on any social media outlets, The Little People will pursue legal action. If the care was as bad as you have stated then you should have not wanted to bring your child back in the room with the same teacher for not only a day but a whole week. TLPCDC has provided your child excellent care since he was at our facility even helping with any transitions that took place while in our care. It is unfortunate that you chose to post negative comments after we took your concerns and tried to resolve them the best way possible. It was not good for your family or our staff to keep your son if you were uncomfortable with the care he received and his classroom teacher would have to feel the anxiety of him returning to her class knowing how you felt about her care. Your child was not injured any other time while in our care, because your child is a young toddler sometimes their balance is not perfect and they can trip over themselves as they are still learning to walk. TLPCDC handled the incident in compliance with the state rules and regulations and although we hate to see your child go we understand. However, posting false statements online and discussing information that you have no knowledge of in an attempt to hurt a business’s not only spiteful but also tasteless. We wish you all the best and may God Bless your family.
Nathan MarksJul 2, 2018As a first time mom completely new to this area finding a daycare was ome of the most anxiety ridden and overwhelming experiences of my life. I researched like CRAZY and ultimately went with this facility bc I felt like the administrator-Janice was understandable, compassionate, and ran a tight ship. I was right on 1 out of the three. I started having issues at drop off with having to leave my newborn infant in the office bc there was no staff available in the infant room, as well as other small things, like berating, public chastising of staff, and almost like a tyrant/dictator type of behavior from Janice, HOWEVER my son was being cared for SOOO greatly by Ms.Ayesha(infant teacher), I was afraid to remove him. Ms. Ayesha was with my son from his very first day(at 6weeks old) and cared for him like he was her own. She was the ONLY reason I kept my son there as long as I did, and about 4weeks ago she gave her notice. I'm surprised Ms. Ayesha stayed as long as she did, but from some of our conversations I came to see that she was looking for different work. I truly feel she stayed as long as she did bc of her bond with the babies---Either way ,although she gave a two weeks notice, she was "asked not to return" at the end of the first week...therefore my baby(was placed into the toddler program, HOWEVER we were still being charged at an Infant Room rate. The facility completely disbanded the infant room, leaving the parents with infants that were enrolled either without childcare or forced to take their child to a different location(mind you with no adjustments in tuition although they are now being inconvenienced). When we questioned about our tuition rate, we were told my son was still in the "transition phase" so he was still tecnically in the infant program....HOW COULD HE BE IN A PROGRAM THAT DIDNT EXIST?!? To make matters worse my child was INJURED (to the point that his mouth was bloody when his dad picked him up), and we were flat out DENIED the oppportunity to look at the cameras. During my daycare search, I specifically asked if this was a service provided to parents, and it was ASSURED to me that, if we requested to view the cameras due to an incident--- we would be able to. What makes this so bad is the attitude behind everything. I was chastised for even wanting to look at cameras bc "I should trust what I am being told, and if you dont than maybe its time for you to look into another facility". This was the final straw. I dont feel as though ANY business should treat a customer this way, ESPECIALLY when it comes down to the treatment of your child. To make matters worse when given the required 5 day notice that my son would no longer be attending this facility---he was terminated IMMEDIATELY leaving me without a week without childcare!! I apologize for the looong review and tbh, I could say a ton more!! I wish I was privy to this type of information before placing my son here, but I am blessed that my baby was given a great teacher who loved him. I feel like the staff adhere to her dictatorship and do what they have to do to get paid. I will say this was my experience with Site 2...but Janice is the administrator for ALL sites and I cant imagine that any experience will be any different. Again, thats just my personal opinions based off of my personal experiences and just hope people see through the ignorance... Update:: As a consumer entitled to first amendment rights it is very disheartening to be threatened with legal action based off of me voicing personal opionions from personal experiences....
Nakita RossJul 2, 2018Please continue to do your research. I had to take my child out of this facility (site 2) because of so many issues that took place while my son was there. My son attended this site since he was 6 weeks olds, he is now 15 months. I would of took my child out once he was 3 months old but my son’s mother didn’t like change and felt my son bonded with his infant room teacher (The only reason why we stayed). In my personal opinion the owner is completely unprofessional and a full blown tyrant. On any peticular day you could always hear her over the walkie degrading and chastising teachers loudly even with parents in the building. I even had to talk to my son’s teacher one day and ask was she always like that. When my son’s teacher decided to quit we decided to do the same feeling as though nobody cared for our son as well as she did. The main reasons we decided to leave was because my son was physically hurt one day and we were given two different stories on what happen. As parents we were concerned and asked to watch the tape that they say are running everyday in the classrooms. We were told once we first enrolled our son that we would have access to tapes if ever concerned. Once confronted about our concerns the owner, stated that parents are not allowed to view the tapes, and basically had to take them at word value. Another reason why we decided to take our son out was due to the lack of communication with us as parents with my son’s transition to the next class. We feel this was due to the site continuing to charge us at the higher infant rate then toddler rate. We as parents had to request a meeting to justify their reasoning to keep my son as a infant and they could not provide a answer even with the infant room being closed for two weeks due to having no children enrolled and no teacher, because she quit. Just to give you an example of the owners unprofessionalism, once we gave her our mandated 5 day notice of changing daycare services, she decided to terminate our son on the same day. Leaving us without child care for a week. Luckily our new site was way more accommodating with our situation. Hope this review helps you. ✌🏿✌🏿 Update: Due to the owner threatening me with legal actions over this review I have changed some aspects of my original post. However, it is still my opinion that this is not a good business. Please notice other comments here and as well as on the Better Buisness Bureau.
shemaur525Jun 29, 2018My daughter has been attending this daycare for about 4 months. I have nothing but good experiences so far. The one thing you learn early is that Janice runs a tight ship. This is something that I admire and encourage when there are children involved. No exceptions are given when it comes to the schedule for good reason. Everyone is treated the same across the board. Safety and cleanliness are first and foremost, followed closely by a teaching initiative geared towards preparing the children to excel in kindergarten. The staff are well informed and in constant communication with one another about the children. My daughter is making great strides in her fine motor skills and social graces. The centers have been awarded 5 stars by the state of Delawares accreditation system and come complete with meals, before/after care, transportation to and from school and a summer camp. As for the negative reviews, I can see how a disruption like being late for work, or missing a payment can alter our lives as parents, however a business can easily become a circus if rules are constantly bent and children thrive on the consistency of a schedule. If anything, this center has kept me on my toes and on schedule. I have been able to overlook minor inconveniences (mainly due to my own error) and focus on the happiness and learning of my child. I would also like to add that my child has not been sick one time since starting, which was a constant struggle at her previous daycares.
