Granddaughter has been at Bessie's since 18 months. She is now six. Attended Pre-k, and was well prepared for kindergarten. I can't say enough good things about Bessie's. Children are treated like family.

Crystal KirklandJun 17, 2025Bessie’s Child Care is an awesome place for your children. My grandchild has been there since he was six months old. I absolutely love Ms. Vicky, Ms. Janet and Ms. Tucker they do a great job loving on my baby. I wouldn’t take him anywhere else.
Vickie BrownNov 22, 2022Bessie's has been serving the CSRA for 23+ years. My son attended there in his early years up until he went to school. They live up to their motto of an Old Fashioned Name....Providing Old Fashioned Care. It's definitely a family environment and some of the staff have been there for years. I noticed recently that they have made a lot of updates also which shows they are constantly improving. I can respect that because they were already great. Keep up the great work Bessie's Child Care!
Amber FranklinOct 24, 2020I don't how well they care for your child at the daycare but dont let them transport your child. I saw their van on Gordon Hwy with a child (2 or 3yrs old) stand up, leaning against the window. No car seats, not in a seat belt! Unsafe and not legal!
Heidi HardyFeb 21, 2019I went in today to check out the facility for my children. First of all, when I walked in the place had a horrific smell like old poopy diapers had been in there for weeks! I was able to walk in freely with no greeter and stood for about five minutes. I had easy access to the children so if I was crazy anything could have happened to those babies. On top of that there were more children toward the back of the area where the worker was which indicated to me there were not enough workers to keep an eye on all of the children at the moment. When one of the mother's dropped off her child I asked the mother how the child likes it. She said her child had been there for a few months and she liked it. Yet the child started hollering when the mom dropped her off. After months of attending a daycare I would hope my child would be excited to go because they feel welcomed and loved. I received a bad vibe. I sat down and decided to check the reviews. At that moment I knew that I would not be bringing my child to this facility. I'm not uppity but this right here had "bad idea" written all over it. Before I even had the chance to check out the rest of the center I walked right out.

Questions parents ask about Bessie's Child Care
Is Bessie's Child Care a licensed child care provider in Georgia?
- Bessie's Child Care holds Georgia record CCLC-2289, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Richmond County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.
What is Bessie's Child Care's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?
- Georgia rates Bessie's Child Care 2 stars, on a scale of one to three where three is highest. Quality Rated measures programme standards the state assesses, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence itself.
Does Bessie's Child Care offer Georgia's Pre-K?
- Yes. The state record lists Bessie's Child Care as taking part in Georgia's Pre-K Program, Georgia's lottery-funded programme for four-year-olds. Places are limited and enrolment runs on the state's own calendar, so ask the provider how to apply.
Does this page show inspection results for Bessie's Child Care?
- No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Bessie's Child Care's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
