Big Blue Marble Academy - Buford

I moved to Georgia and was excited about my son attending this school especially with the fact they stated they offered an integrated Spanish learning program. I would say things with the teachers were ok, but I had never interacted with the Director or Assistant very much. The director seems overly friendly very ingenuine and the assistant is always looking mad with little to no greeting in the morning. Although I saw my son did not want to go to school which is very out of character, I continued to take him, but I assumed it had to be from the transition. Later I began to notice there were select teacher he was ok with staying with and some he screamed on top of his lungs about. About a week after I noticed this, I go to pick up my son that by the way is only 2 years old. The Assistant claims he is spitting on kids, kicking them, and hitting specifically on the top of their heads. I acknowledged my concern and asked more questions in which it seemed to be a normal toddler situation. My child was by another child playing with blocks and he pushed them down, but they claimed he INTENTIONALY kicked the child in order to knock the rest of the blocks down. The next day they called me and asked me to come get him around 11 am because they couldn't contain my child which I thought was extremely overreacted. I asked and she began to tell me about what happened the day before and claimed he was doing the same things but adding now he is enjoying and smiling on the tricycle while running over children. I felt extremely uncomfortable about how they are trying to paint a two-year-old i know my child and where he needs work like any other toddler that is learning but getting pleasure out of hurting other kids I have never seen. Anytime I asked his teacher at the time Audrey she always said he was good. After speaking about this incident, the new teacher hired also stated he was good so I'm not sure what it was about, but I will no longer take my child. This is a brief description amongst other things. Not saying everyone will experience the same but this is not a place I would recommend .

Wonderful staff and facility. Not easy to find trustworthy centers for infants, but BBMA makes it a priority to keep parents informed. The director Ms. Maria is also incredibly accommodating and communicative. BBMA did such a great job with my infant that I enrolled my older child in aftercare. It’s always a good sign when your children speak highly of their teachers.

So unbelievably grateful that we found this daycare for our daughter!! We had a bad experience at a different day care when our daughter moved to the 1 year old. Once we moved to Big Blue Marble, it was night and day difference. The teachers and staff are the most caring and professional people. They go way out of their way to care for us and our daughter. Even gifting her favorite book after just 1 conversation about it. I never worry about her being loved and cared for while she is there. Highly recommend this place for your kids!!

Even though I had many more closer daycares to my house, I am happy I chose this place for my son. He had great time there, his teacher Mrs. Alexa was wonderful. And all other care givers were gentle, loving, friendly and caring. Facility is new and very clean environment. From the color to the layout I found it very child friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I just had to share my thoughts on this center & I haven’t even enrolled my child yet, but I 100% will. Maria is an AMAZING director. I went in to have a tour with my son & I had all these questions ready for when I went in, as I used to work at a daycare for 4 years, now working with children with disabilities in a therapeutic setting & have just overall worked with children for 10+ years. I had all the questions ready to go & Maria IMMEDIATELY put me at complete ease & made me feel completely safe to leave my son there. You can truly see that she is passionate about what she does, she’s huge on cleanliness which was huge for me & she’s big on safety. When you walk in, you can tell it’s a clean facility just by the smell of it! The classrooms were also very clean. I’m so happy that I was able to find a place for my son that I can feel confident about leaving him there. All of the core values are there, all of the correct skills are there, the compassion is there, the passion is there, and the leadership is there. Not to mention I had gone to another center after touring this one & the difference is crazy & no effort was even put in, it was something so rushed & routine for the next center. With that, I immediately knew nothing was going to top my experience I had touring BBMA. Maria/the staff at BBMA actually cares! 5 stars from us right off the bat! 😊
