  • I love coming to the Burk County Y. The lifeguards are so friendly. It's clean and I felt like I was on a mini vacation while relaxing by the pool.

  • The Staff were very friendly, nice and professional. I'm a Union Member and we rented the conference room for business. All who worked there should receive excellent ratings / evaluations from their supervisors.

  • “MELBA” who has a smart attitude specifically targeted my grandmother and pointed her out asking what child she had with her while several others that she stated were “regulars” walked right past her. How would you know they’re a regular when you’re not looking up from your desk? We just signed up yesterday for the family membership. No proof of residency or ID was ever asked from my grandmother to prove we stay in the same household even though the manager stated this was a REQUIREMENT for employees to do. Yet, we’re going to instead, single out a child who wanted to go swimming. It would not have been a big deal had she not had the attitude she had. The manager April also stated that the child would have to proof he lived at the same residence and it would have to be notarized yet, no one else was requested to do this on the membership. She stated it was because we could just put anything on a piece of paper. Would that not also be the case for me signing children up? I could also just put they are my sons in that case because no one checked. I’ll call corporate and see what can be done but unfortunately they usually keep the ones that can’t do the job. My forms were LOST last year. Also the very first day of joining, the lifeguards were short in staff, overworked, & basically none of the pools were open! This place is a joke.

  • Avoid this gym! If you have kids and want to go and put the kids in the kids area… DONT! Four different occasions in the past 3 weeks they didn’t have the kids area open during the hours the kids area was supposed to be open. We also have friends that have been turned away 3 different times because of them being “closed” or only open for “afterschool kids”. We know what we get with our membership and we know the staff is lying to our faces. Their hours for play and learn are 3-7 and the bigger kids area is 3-8 but they seem to either have a scheduling problem or an employee problem where when management is out they leave whenever they want… It’s very inconvenient to drive 20 minutes to the gym to be told you can’t workout because they aren’t open as advertised… Very poor management. We use to go to this gym years ago when it was first built. Management was great, it was before I had children but my friends with children never complained. I do believe either way this issue falls on management. Deciding to drive the 10 extra minutes to south Augusta Y to have a guaranteed kids club and they also have more and much better equipment and also a sauna. Don’t waste your time with this YMCA that doesn’t care about giving you what your hard earned money you pay them every month deserves.

Questions parents ask about Burke County Family YMCA

Is Burke County Family YMCA a licensed child care provider in Georgia?

Burke County Family YMCA holds Georgia record EX-52796, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Burke County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.

Why is Burke County Family YMCA exempt from licensing in Georgia?

Georgia records Burke County Family YMCA under the "Day Camp and School Breaks" exemption. An exempt programme is not licensed by the state and is not held to the same standards as a licensed centre or home, so ask the provider directly what oversight it does operate under.

What is Burke County Family YMCA's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?

Georgia publishes no Quality Rated star rating for Burke County Family YMCA. Participation is voluntary, so a provider without a rating has not been assessed under the programme rather than been rated poorly, and it is licensed and inspected either way.

Does this page show inspection results for Burke County Family YMCA?

No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Burke County Family YMCA's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
