  • Wonderful teachers with passion, experience, and dedication. Creative lesson plans, wonderful classroom management and student teacher interactions in the older kid rooms too! Thats what makes it extra disapointing knowing that administrstion doesnt hold themselves to the same standards. Many lines in the parent teacher handbook are worded imporoperly or just plain untrue, like how the parent manual gaurentees that the infant room will go outdoors for walks in the stroller or fresh air, when in reality they stay inside all day. Admin does not communicate and support their teachers to the point of ignoring requests for support, ignoring safety concerns like lose nails on the playground and leaking pipes in the celings. Annual trainings were also presented as chores instead of oppertunities to learn, educatiors were considered disposible, favoritism towards teachers and students alike caused divides between staff members and left many feeling deeply unsupported and the casualty admin has towards these issues unfortunately sets the standard for their staff. This is extremely disapointing, especially considering how hard working and dedicated the teachers are, and how involved parents are in the school. The teachers are amazing, the parents are amazing, if admin could reset and reprioritize, it could easily be one of the best schools in Atlanta.

  • We have had all 3 of our children attend DHCDC, from the infant class all the way through to Pre-K and camps. It is really well run, great community, wonderful staff and teachers. Our 5 yr old son entered Kindergarten this year already reading & mathing at above a 1st grade level thanks to DHCHD. They teach them early! Plus all food is included, they do field trips, exercise programs, music, you name it. Best kept secret in Atl!

  • Our oldest started at DHCDC as a 6-month old at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we couldn't have been placing her in better hands. The attention of the administrative team and staff to the needs of both children and parents have not wavered since then. Our children have gotten a great early-childhood education all the way through a lottery funded Pre-K class that prepared our oldest to thrive in Kindergarten. DHCDC and the community of parents and grandparents (of both current and former students) have continued to make DHCDC the best place we can imagine to have our kids attend.

  • My daughter was at DHCDC for her PreK year and I wish we could have gotten her in sooner. Our time (even though just for a year) there was one of the most rewarding for both our daughter and us. The amount of love and community they provide and create is exactly what the kids and parents need. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to make sure that they are building a strong future generation. Now that our daughter is in elementary school, I can share that she was beyond prepared for starting school off with success. We had placed our daughter on the waiting list mostly because of price, location and hours/days open (and the fact the rate included meals). But what you get with the love, attention, guidance, creating a fun learning environment, preparing the kids for elementary school, and community is what makes them really stand out. I highly recommend.

  • Such an incredible school, all the way through the lottery pre-k. A warm community environment, truly dedicated to early childhood education. My kids have thrived every step of the way, and were beyond prepared for elementary school after graduating from the most nurturing pre-k class. Will forever be appreciative of the dedicated DHCDC team and teachers.

  • We started at DHCDC 3 and a half years ago and will move into their lottery-funded pre-k in August. Our daughter has thrived at the center and we have appreciated the frequent communication, excellent enrichment activities including Play Ball, Opus Music, and the partnership with the library, lots of parent involvement. Leadership is committed to supporting it's staff to reduce turnover and ensure high quality and consistent early childhood education.

Questions parents ask about Druid Hills Child Development Center

Is Druid Hills Child Development Center a licensed child care provider in Georgia?

Druid Hills Child Development Center holds Georgia record CCLC-929, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Fulton County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.

What is Druid Hills Child Development Center's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?

Georgia rates Druid Hills Child Development Center 2 stars, on a scale of one to three where three is highest. Quality Rated measures programme standards the state assesses, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence itself.

Does Druid Hills Child Development Center offer Georgia's Pre-K?

Yes. The state record lists Druid Hills Child Development Center as taking part in Georgia's Pre-K Program, Georgia's lottery-funded programme for four-year-olds. Places are limited and enrolment runs on the state's own calendar, so ask the provider how to apply.

Does this page show inspection results for Druid Hills Child Development Center?

No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Druid Hills Child Development Center's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
