We’ve been very happy with Dunwoody prep for our first child. Communication has been great, and it’s clear our son loves his teachers!
Valerie AvalloneApr 5, 2026Both my children went through DP starting as infants and we really enjoyed the school and staff. The teachers are amazing and most have been there many years. The administration really cares about every family and is very involved in all classes. The parents are engaged and communication is great, cannot say enough good things. We miss DP and everyone!
Alex O'ConnellOct 23, 2018We had both of our children at Dunwoody Prep for years. Both Jane and Edye were wonderful to interact with on all of the operations of the school, they always were open to parent feedback and worked hard to ensure the kids were happy. The teachers that the kids had were nothing short of wonderful. They were all kind and caring and took personal interest in the kids success and happiness. I highly recommend Dunwoody prep based on our experience.
Gabe RandApr 25, 2018We couldn't have asked for a better preschool experience for our son who joined Dunwoody Prep at the age of 3 and then graduated to kindergarten in a public school. Pros: 1. The DP experience prepares kids for kindergarten very, very well - academics, social interaction, adjustment to a school routine. All DP families that we knew, have echoed this observation. 2. Teachers and staff are very warm and friendly - kids love to go to school here. We really enjoyed interacting with all the teachers and staff. 3. In-house chef and kitchen - parents can actually walk by the kitchen and know what is being cooked and prepared. 4. The classrooms and the school building itself is very small. That IMO great for kids aged below 5 to develop confidence. 5. Teacher and staff encourage kids to talk openly and freely. At least for the time we were there, it seemed like most teachers respected and nurtured individual personalities, in most cases. 6. They encourage celebration of international holidays and exposing kids to different cultures. Cons: 1. Super long wait lists. 2. A bit on the pricey side. 3. Do not have half-day or part-time options - this would have been a big pro for us. 4. Some teachers seemed to be going too much by the book when it came to annual parent-teacher meetings about "how did your child do?". This was not a big con though because benchmarking lets you know how your kid is doing, after all. Also it kind of prepares the parents for public school :). But overall, we have LOVED to see our son blossom and grow at DP. Definitely one of Dunwoody's best preschools and daycare centers for young kids. Highly recommend.
Gouri ShuklaMar 8, 2018Jane Newman who is the executive director jokes about it becoming an all girls school because she dislikes boys. Edye Disner is very lazy and shows up when she wants to. Dunwoody prep is behind VERY behind on curriculum and technology. I work in the educational field and I can tell you this place is not worth the money. The place is falling apart and they couldn’t care less about working parents. All they care about is money and whether or not your kid will sit down and be quiet. I am so happy my son is no longer there.
Erin KimmJan 1, 2018Thoroughly loved our years in Dunwoody Prep. My kid never wanted to skip a day. The teachers are very warm and welcoming and open to feedbacks. The school has an efficient, stable and hard working management/ admin team. Even the school chef gets an all star. There are several events/activities for parents to stay connected with the school curriculum and that certainly always makes it special for the kids and for families. Talking about Pre-K program, the teachers worked very hard to motivate each child to do his/her very best in a fun learning environment. The kids graduating from Dunwoody Prep are well prepared for Kindergarten and beyond - socially and academically. Learning centers were very well planned, the crafts were interesting and innovative(kids enjoyed working on those), loved the writings of the kids' hanging on the wall and the list goes on.... ..There were two recitals for the final year and it was wonderfully executed by the kids and the teachers - speaks volumes about the team work. Lastly, a lot of emphasis was laid on the "life skills", my kid still quotes & tries to follow things she learnt from her teachers at Dunwoody Prep. Will always recommend the school to other families. It is a very good school with the added advantage of the flexibility of a quality day care.

Questions parents ask about Dunwoody Prep
Is Dunwoody Prep a licensed child care provider in Georgia?
- Dunwoody Prep holds Georgia record CCLC-2002, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Dekalb County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.
What is Dunwoody Prep's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?
- Georgia publishes no Quality Rated star rating for Dunwoody Prep. Participation is voluntary, so a provider without a rating has not been assessed under the programme rather than been rated poorly, and it is licensed and inspected either way.
Does this page show inspection results for Dunwoody Prep?
- No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Dunwoody Prep's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
