  • My 2 year old grandson was placed here after his daycare burned down when it was struck by lightning. All of a sudden he was terrified of loud noises especially a blower. We found out that when he would get in trouble the teachers were standing the children in a corner and making them hold books over their heads and scaring him with the bouncy house blower! The fear on my grandson's face and his reactions to loud noises now is heartbreaking and has caused him trauma at 2! This is child abuse! Do not send your child here if you want them taken care of. The director was fired immediately and they pulled my grandson out of there. They need to be shut down and be charged with cruelty to children!

  • "I withdrew my 3 children from this school, ages 10 months., 2 and 4. I reported them to the state, I spoke to Mr. Haney and I went to the Emerson police department. I heard there had been a convicted felon working with the children and that this person was slotted to take over the 1 year old room that my 10 month old was in. When I approached the director regarding this she said and I quote, “if you have a problem with it, you can take your kids and leave”. When I spoke to the police, the cop told me I wasn’t the first mother to come and complain about that school and the police officers who have gone to investigate, no longer work for that department. I heard a child in the 3 year old room was hit and the teacher continued to work there. I heard that the school forgot to pay their credit card bill so they were unable to purchase food for the daycare one week. They provided random left overs found in the main school. This lined up with when my daughter had to be hospitalized for 2 different strains of e.coli. My 2 year was not receiving proper potty training support. There were around 25-30 kids in that one classroom. The teachers are asked to come to school and work while having COVID, the flu, etc. This among many other accusations. A group of old teachers had gone to the board to discuss some of these issues. From what I heard nothing has been done. Please keep reporting this school."

  • We’ve been with Excel Early Learning since Spring 2019, when it was still Cartersville Childcare. There have been plenty of ups and downs in that time but I have never doubted for a minute that my children have been loved and cared for here. Both of our children started in the infant class and the teachers in that room were truly such a blessing to our girls and our family as we acclimated to daycare. My children have made meaningful friendships and it’s been amazing to watch them grow and learn. My oldest is now in the Pre-K program and her teachers are exceptional! But I could make a long list of all of the teachers that have invested and poured into my children- and continue to do so! We’ve also watched as the administration has navigated a whole host of challenges (COVID protocols, moving to a new location, staff turnover, etc) and I truly believe that they have always tried to make decisions that are fair and reasonable. When we’ve had concerns about how a certain situation was handled, the Director has always listened to our perspective and has either explained why they were doing things a certain way or offered an alternative as a compromise. Part of running a childcare facility is ensuring the safety and well-being of our children and I truly feel like that is the utmost priority to the administration here. We are incredibly thankful for Excel Early Learning and for all the ways that they love, care for, and teach our children.

  • We started taking our son here, and to say their communication is lacking is an understatement, it is non-existent. You ask someone a question about policy and depending on what time of the day, or day of the week and who you ask it's constantly a different answer. We asked about dietary restrictions and were told that you just need a doctor's note. We bring the doctors note and then get told we need something else, in the meantime they continue giving our son the item that he is not supposed to have. The director here shows zero care or compassion for your child. Even when admitting to doing something incorrectly she blows you off like it shouldn't matter. We have also came in during snack time and seen not all children getting snacks. If you want your children to be even remotely cared for properly then this isn't the place they shouldn't come here. Until they can hire administrators that actually care about your children.

  • I find it funny that the 5 star reviews at this place are from the director or her family members. Do not send your child here. I promise there are better options. My children were not cared for and we ever got lawyers involved. This child care was found guilty in several areas. My friends kids are always coming home with marks on them. Some staff are great and some- just arent. Everyone is unhappy. Just save yourself time and dont even make an appointment to go. Your child will not get the best care.

Questions parents ask about Excel Early Learning Center

Is Excel Early Learning Center a licensed child care provider in Georgia?

Excel Early Learning Center holds Georgia record CCLC-53257, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Bartow County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.

What is Excel Early Learning Center's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?

Georgia rates Excel Early Learning Center 1 star, on a scale of one to three where three is highest. Quality Rated measures programme standards the state assesses, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence itself.

Does Excel Early Learning Center offer Georgia's Pre-K?

Yes. The state record lists Excel Early Learning Center as taking part in Georgia's Pre-K Program, Georgia's lottery-funded programme for four-year-olds. Places are limited and enrolment runs on the state's own calendar, so ask the provider how to apply.

Does this page show inspection results for Excel Early Learning Center?

No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Excel Early Learning Center's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
