  • This is the best daycare ever!! I love everything about this daycare from the directors, teachers, how clean it is, the activities that they plan for the children, their curriculum, and how they all love the children like their own. My kids have been going there for the past four months and they never want to leave. This daycare is inclusive to all kids and every child is treated the same and with respect. I have no regrets sending my kids here and you won't either.

  • I'm not one to write a negative review on a business unless it's really necessary. I have been dealing with this daycare since 2015. My oldest son attended Pre-K in 2015. Our experience was decent, there were minor issues that I chose to overlook. I enrolled middle child in Pre-K at Gateway Academy in August 2017. The only negative encounter that I have ever had was with the director (Ola). She is extremely rude, and always appear to be having a bad day. During my middle child's open house, she scolded a teacher in front of all of the students and parents for passing out paper to the children. The teacher was trying to keep the children quiet during the open house. That was my first red flag, but I still chose to leave my son their. A couple of weeks later I tried to drop my 4 year old off at school, their electricity had went out . The staff asked us parents to take our children back home if we could. When I called a couple of hours later to see if the lights were back on, Ola answered the phone with a rude tone and advised me that they were on. I told here that my son was saddened by the fact that he couldn't stay at school and that I would bring him back. Not even an hour later as I was exiting my house Ola called me back and stated that I could not bring him because he had missed the drop off dead line. She claimed that it was GA Pre-K rule. I knew that was a lie . I withdrew him from the school immediately. Fast forward to today, I went back to the daycare because my 4 year old's new school stated that Gateway was offering free childcare for children 4 and under. I was reluctant but being a Christian and being that Gateway is supposed be a Christian organization , I decided to give them another try. BAD IDEA!!!! Ola was still RUDE. I filled out my paper work , waited approximately 30 minutes while she sat in her office. She then comes out to discuss me not qualifying for the program to the receptionist as if I was not sitting there. I told the receptionist that I would just return at a later time. Ola then Yelled from her office that she was working on another application and that she was almost done(I was the only person in the lobby!). I left feeling offended and confused as to why this lady is operating a day care filled with children instead of working at a butcher somewhere so that she could take here frustrations out on a dead cow. Everyone is entitled to a bad day, but not being able to control your emotions all the time is not fair to our children . As a director she sets the tone for her business. My son is only one and cannot speak for himself. I will spread the word to everyone as long as this lady is working here.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Just like the other reviews suggested. I will file this complaint with Bright from the start.

Questions parents ask about Gateway Academy & Childcare Center

Is Gateway Academy & Childcare Center a licensed child care provider in Georgia?

Gateway Academy & Childcare Center holds Georgia record CCLC-24470, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Cobb County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.

What is Gateway Academy & Childcare Center's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?

Georgia rates Gateway Academy & Childcare Center 2 stars, on a scale of one to three where three is highest. Quality Rated measures programme standards the state assesses, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence itself.

Does Gateway Academy & Childcare Center offer Georgia's Pre-K?

Yes. The state record lists Gateway Academy & Childcare Center as taking part in Georgia's Pre-K Program, Georgia's lottery-funded programme for four-year-olds. Places are limited and enrolment runs on the state's own calendar, so ask the provider how to apply.

Does this page show inspection results for Gateway Academy & Childcare Center?

No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Gateway Academy & Childcare Center's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
