Toured a few times and definitely so glad they’re bringing reggio to Gwinnett.
Brooke VidalMay 6, 2026We had the best experience with Hopscotch Academy! Ms. Laverne and all the teachers here are caring and kind, and my child was always excited to come to school. From the small class sizes, to their emphasis on playing outdoors and eating healthy, it was an amazing experience for our toddler. We had to move due to a change in employment, but we would recommend Hopscotch to anyone!
LizFeb 23, 2026We’re extremely thankful to have a trustworthy place where we can send our young ones. We’ve had a child in Hopscotch for the last few years and will be sending the newest addition to our family in the coming months. It’s extremely difficult to find a place you feel truly loves and cares for you little ones, so we’re grateful to have Mrs. Laverne and her team so close by.
John ShorterNov 23, 2025Preface: My wife & I toured 8 different daycares for our 3-month old starting full-time (5 days a week) in January 2026. We ranked this place in the lower half. Facts: Price: $1200/m Ratio: 1 teacher every 3 infants, 8 infants max Hours: 7 - 6, 9:30 drop off cutoff (10:30 with doctor appointment); can only stay 10 hours max per day. Infants share items (crib, bottles, wipes, etc.)? No Communication: Bright Wheel app Door secured? Yes - plant-based meals; no meat given at all. - Reggio-inspired learning (based on interests of student) Opinion: The infant room here is 100% BRAND-NEW as of January 2026. There are many pros and cons to this, but my wife and I found more cons, unfortunately. Although the price is cheaper than other places, the building itself gave us the vibes of a prison. The walls were empty, it was very cold, and the entrance is very confusing to find. There is a big entrence sign with an arrow, and the arrow points to a storage room that is padlocked. The staff member had to come out and find us for our tour. This building is a series of trailers on 2 acres of land. Their website seemed very misleading; it didn't match how it looked in-person. Online, it appeared to be a much larger building, but we only saw a fraction of the rooms. Not sure where the others were. They teach based off a Reggio-inspired learning basis, which follows the interests of the child, as opposed to any structured learning plan. They also have real-life bunnies & birds in the playground (this is neither good nor bad, just listing facts). The front desk area was also very cluttered, making it very uninviting. We are a family of 2 plus a baby in a stroller, yet it was hard for us to navigate through the front entrence area with the huge front desk in the way, with no designated room for it. There were also no seats or any real waiting area or lobby. We were forced to stand awkwardly at the front, which was not a big deal for us, but can be for those with disabilities or pregnant women touring before birth. We also witnessed a child being dropped off, but the child was crying saying she didn't want to stay.
Thai LeNov 13, 2025Before kindergarten, our child was in the Pre-K class with Ms. Michelle, who is also amazing! Her classroom was full of creativity and hands-on learning. She incorporates Reggio-inspired activities that really sparked our child’s imagination, independence, and love for learning. From nature walks to open-ended art and sensory play, every day felt like a meaningful discovery. And of course, none of this would be possible without Ms. Laverne, the heart and soul of the school. As the owner, she is caring, hands-on, and always available. Her passion for children and commitment to excellence shines through every classroom. We are beyond thankful for the entire team at Hopcotch Academy and feel confident and excited as we move into first grade!*
Jade CainJun 20, 2025My 2 yr. old son attended Hopscotch Academy and was excited to go every day. Ms. LaVerne and her team are always welcoming, professional, and honest. They have played a big part in my son's learning, socialization, and development. I love the fact that they have very engaging activities for the kids!
