I was met with kind, competent, and caring people from the moment I arrived.Starting with the lady that checked me in,sorry I forgot her name, to the Lady Krista that did my first radiology exam to Kelly,Who did my second exam. The radiologist whose name began with a B came in to discuss his findings and his reasons for 2 tests to Make sure things looked good. For a small hospital they made me feel welcome and appreciated considering I was from out of state. Thank You
sandra quintalJun 26, 2026The only reason I’m leaving a 1-star is to write this review. My teenage daughter was sent here to lab work and an ultrasound and on her ovaries. We do not have insurance and when we arrived we were told we would have to pay up front. Never heard of that before, but I asked how much it was. The ultrasound was $350, and the lab work would be $300, for a total of $650. I didn’t have that much so I asked to reschedule for 2 weeks so I could come up with the money. Today we get there and pay for the ultrasound, $350, they take her back and get it done. Then they want us to pay again, $489 for the lab work. When I question why it has increased $189 from what I was told 2 weeks ago, I was told they aren’t the billing department and whatever I was told was just an estimate. When I asked how was she able to tell me exactly how much it is today, but she couldn’t 2 weeks ago, again I was told she isn’t the billing department. The entire time we were there all of the women in the administration area were too busy gossiping about their weekend activities to be bothered with doing their jobs, and actually act annoyed whenever you need help. Their motto, “our family taking care of yours” must be a joke. Irwin County Hospital needs to hire higher quality admin people!
Crystal BaileyApr 8, 2024As soon as I walked in the waiting room, smell like poop. The receptionist at the front didn’t even turn her head to see what was going on. I got into a room after about 30 minutes and the nurse to help me out who’s very nice and friendly, she asked me for a urine sample and also asked me if I wanted a blanket because it was cold and I said yes but she never came back with a blanket. I spent the next two hours just waiting and when I click the button a nurse came in and said that the other nurse would be in with my discharge papers. Which was the same nurse from before she told me that I would have to follow up with my OB/GYN and didn’t tell me anything after that so I don’t know what my real issue was. I don’t know why they took my urine sample. They must’ve been thirsty the whole time you could hear all of the nurses lagging around and chopping it up. Would not recommend.
Abby AmiusSep 7, 2023My wife was sent here for a pre-op appointment and bloodwork, and had the worst experience. First, there was NOBODY there except one receptionist who was having a personal phone conversation and was so annoyed to be bothered to do her job. She was very adamant about “finishing with this girl and then getting the hell out of here.” The nurses were also SO rude and made her VERY uncomfortable. One took forever to find a vein and kept making comments about how bad hers were, even though other places have never had an issue. It actually hurt after she literally dug around in her arm and FINALLY got it. She also made a comment about a scar on her arm which was from a car accident, and implied it was from self-harming. Another kept insisting that my wife know the surgery she was going in for means she couldn’t have kids, even after multiple times of my wife telling her she’s well aware of that fact. They also said, because of her size (weight), anesthesia wouldn’t work on her, even though she’s been able to have it for EVERY OTHER SURGERY before. Besides all these facts, none of them made that “hospital” feel safe or convenient or comfortable whatsoever and all acted like they were so annoyed to have to do their jobs. In short, they were rude, judgmental, clearly bad at their jobs, and so unprofessional. I wouldn’t trust this establishment to treat me for the common cold. -50/10, would never recommend.
Justin NealMay 3, 2023I had a full hysterectomy a "A few years." But he found out that my tubes were not the best. Possibly an overyin cancer in my immediate future, and I was 40 or 41 when I spent a couple of days in Irwin Co. Hospital and haven't been diagnosed. Fortunately, with any problems because of circumstances, I was positive for uterine cancer. It removed surgery 4 times to get a neg. progress for 5 years. I liked the small hospital, and the doctor had good bedside manners. I'dd rather go there than the closest" satilla. I had everything removed. And I soon regretted it. Keep them ovaries if you can !!! But he saved my life, and it's been 17 years. You'll still have an interest, lol... knowing all that, do your research. God bless you all. 🙏 Ms. Jen. 🍫😋 Thanks for reading. Prayer is going out for you guys, too ."🙏 ❤️
Jennifer SchwalenbergMar 9, 2023This is the worst hospital I've ever been to. this is the 2nd time I have ever come here. The 1st time I came with the vomiting and was treated very rudely was here for hours at a time by nurse that really acted like she did not enjoy doing her job and Acted as if she was insensitive to my pain. Now 2 years later I am here with a 5 month old baby we have been Here for 2 hours and still haven't even seen a doctor yet. There is no one in the waiting room and I have not seen anyone being brought to the back but yet the doctor is sitting there and they're saying that he is busy while I'm looking at him.

Why is Irwin County Hospital Authority exempt from licensing in Georgia?
