  • When my son was 4 years old I enrolled him in Reading World Academy’s Pre-K Program. The school ignited his passion for learning! The teachers were caring and the academics outstanding. Reading World created a superior educational foundation for my son. As a college student he was a deans list student and inducted into the National Honor Society. Although he no longer lives in Atlanta, he always makes a point to visit Reading World where great memories were formed.

  • While this daycare is in a convenient location, my overall experience has been very disappointing and concerning. The inside of the facility is poorly maintained and doesn't reflect the high tuition they charge. It honestly looks like a place that should be offering free childcare, not charging premium rates. The director appears to have very little awareness of what goes on day to day, and communication with parents is almost nonexistent. The two women who open the daycare in the mornings are frequently asleep, and when they're approached—especially about payments—they often respond with obvious irritation and attitude. When I enrolled, I was told the weekly tuition was $150 if I paid in cash, and I paid that amount every week for four months. Then, without any prior notice, I was suddenly told I owed a large balance because the weekly rate was actually $240. At no point was I informed of any rate change or told I was paying the wrong amount, so being hit with that balance was completely unexpected and unfair. What concerned me the most was how active children are treated. Instead of redirecting their energy or engaging them in appropriate activities, they are separated and placed in an isolated area. No child should be treated as if they're a problem simply for being energetic. That isn't quality childcare—it raises serious concerns about how children are being cared for. I would not recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a safe, nurturing, and professional environment for their child. I would especially caution parents about the two employees who open the daycare at 7:00 a.m. They often seem annoyed that the workday has started, rolling their eyes and acting frustrated when parents arrive. The older woman with a cane, in particular, appears irritated when she has to stop resting to accept a payment. If you're a parent paying in cash and need to get to work on time, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I hope this review helps another family avoid the experience mine had. I only wish someone had given us the same warning.

  • I am so happy with this daycare under the new ownership! As a mom with two sets of twins under the age of two, finding a safe and loving place for my children was very important. The staff here really knows how to care for my kids and meet their needs. The facility is clean, welcoming, and well-organized. The new team is awesome, and I especially want to thank Ms. Carmen, who has been wonderful with my babies. She is patient, kind, and truly attentive to each of them. I feel comfortable leaving my little ones here, knowing they are in good hands. I highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a trustworthy, caring, and professional place for their children!

  • This location actually no stars While this daycare is in a convenient location, the overall experience has been disappointing and concerning. The inside of the facility is poorly maintained it looks like a place where kids should attend for free, not at the high rates they charge. The director seems completely unaware of daily operations, and communication with parents is nearly nonexistent. The two women who open in the mornings are often seen asleep and show clear attitude when approached—especially about payments. I was originally told the weekly fee was $150 cash, which I paid consistently for four months. Then out of nowhere, I was told I had a balance because the weekly rate was actually $240. No one ever informed me of this, and I was blindsided with a large balance that I shouldn’t be responsible for. What’s most upsetting is how they handle active children. Instead of engaging them in positive ways, they isolate or “cage” them in a separate area. No child should be treated like a problem just for having energy. That’s not quality childcare it’s neglect. I would not recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a safe, caring, and professional environment for their child. Please run especially from the 2 morning people that are supposed to open the doors at 7am they will roll their eyes and be pissed that they day has started, the older one with Cain gets really upset that she has to take a break from napping to get up to collect a payment I guess there just use to CAPS so If you are a cash paying parent that has to go to work please don't choose there. I hope this helps someone family, I wish someone could have warned mine. Best Wishes,

Questions parents ask about Reading World Academy

Is Reading World Academy a licensed child care provider in Georgia?

Reading World Academy holds Georgia record CCLC-39671, listed as "Open" by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning in Dekalb County. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov before enrolling.

What is Reading World Academy's Quality Rated star rating in Georgia?

Georgia rates Reading World Academy 2 stars, on a scale of one to three where three is highest. Quality Rated measures programme standards the state assesses, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence itself.

Does Reading World Academy offer Georgia's Pre-K?

Yes. The state record lists Reading World Academy as taking part in Georgia's Pre-K Program, Georgia's lottery-funded programme for four-year-olds. Places are limited and enrolment runs on the state's own calendar, so ask the provider how to apply.

Does this page show inspection results for Reading World Academy?

No. Georgia publishes inspection and complaint history for each provider by fiscal year, and none of it is included here, so nothing on this page reflects Reading World Academy's inspection record either way. Look the provider up on the state's provider search at families.decal.ga.gov and read its visit history.
