We started at Riverstones when my baby was 12 weeks old and had a WONDERFUL experience with all of the teachers under the leadership of Ms Regina and Ms Maria… then came the leadership change and constant staff turnover. As a result, I submitted a WRITTEN two weeks notice that I had to call and text and request for it to be acknowledged. That was almost a month ago now, my daughter has been enrolled at the new center for weeks and I have yet to receive my deposit back $230 I have called the center directly and all of my calls go to voicemail; I have emailed the parent company Otter Learning and was advised they would connect with the school. It’s been days with no other communication or updates, keep in mind this is the same organization that sent an email the night before tuition was due making changes to the payment due day with a reminder that failure to make the payment would result in care being immediately suspended and late charges imposed. If you’re going to be that cold to existing families you’d think they would hold themselves to a higher standard when they owe a family money? Otter Learning, where is my refund??? Buyer Beware
Quisha HinesJul 30, 2026⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) My family’s experience at this daycare over the last four months was nothing but chaos. I have never had issues at any other daycare my children have attended until we enrolled here. My son, who was in the three-year-old classroom, was repeatedly labeled as having behavioral issues. However, I strongly believe many of his reactions were the result of other children picking on him and teachers not providing adequate supervision. Instead of addressing the root cause, the responsibility was consistently placed on my child. My older child was also involved in an incident during the summer program where another student pushed her, causing an injury to her stomach. Rather than focusing on my daughter’s well-being, the director called me into a meeting with the other child’s parent and made me feel as though I was the problem for advocating for my child. It was obvious that the situation was handled in a one-sided manner. The leadership seemed completely disconnected from what was happening in the classrooms. There was constant staff turnover, and several teachers displayed behavior that I found unprofessional and inappropriate. I witnessed favoritism, and I became aware of teachers speaking disrespectfully to children, using profanity around them, and using discipline methods that were unacceptable. Whenever the center was over ratio or experiencing staffing issues, I was frequently called away from work to pick up my son. On top of that, a new tuition policy was implemented the day before tuition was due. As a parent on scholarship with a strict budget, this created unnecessary financial stress. I also had concerns that my children came home hungry, complained they were not given enough food, were yelled at by staff, and were often picked up dirty. Every concern I raised seemed to fall on deaf ears. When I attempted to escalate my concerns to higher management, nothing changed. Since withdrawing my children and enrolling them elsewhere, they have been thriving. The behavioral concerns that were constantly brought up at this facility have not occurred at their new school, which speaks volumes. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this daycare. I felt that children were treated more like numbers than individuals, and parent concerns were not taken seriously. If you are considering this center, I encourage you to ask questions, observe carefully, and choose the childcare provider that you feel will truly prioritize your child’s safety, well-being, and development.
Quiana JordanJul 1, 2026Our son was enrolled at Riverstones from the age of six months until he was nearly three years old. For the majority of that time, our experience was positive; the teachers generally do their best and are truly wonderful, providing a nurturing environment that felt like a great value considering the price. However, the atmosphere shifted when our son reached about two and a half. We began facing daily complaints from two teachers who appeared to have developed a targeted bias against our son or our family. They consistently talked to me about his behavior, claiming he was "annoying" other children, yet they repeatedly failed to investigate or address the root cause of these interactions. Through our own observations, we discovered that our son was being teased by his peers, and the teachers' complaints were reactions to his defensive responses rather than the instigating behavior. After enduring two weeks of these mounting and unconstructive complaints, I spoke to the principal about this, who said she never heard of this about my son, but she would look into it. While the principal did address the two teachers directly, we did move away (not because of this). Since transitioning to his new school, his current teachers have confirmed that he is a wonderful student and have reported no behavioral issues whatsoever. I would like to assume this is an isolated incident, as the rest of the staff and principal are great and overall, my son loved it here.
Christopher KellyMay 17, 2026First time parents here. We were so nervous to bring our 6month to daycare, but the team over at Riverstones gave us peace of mind from day one. The staff is great, super friendly and trustworthy. Special shout out to Mrs. lavender, Mrs. Elaine, Ms. Tay, Ms. Clara, and Ms. V. These lovely ladies have been absolutely wonderful handling our baby girl. She seems so happy when we drop her off and pick her up. If you’re looking for a great place to bring your child, Riverstones is it !
Alexandria MillerMay 7, 2026Riverstones Academy is truly a lifesaver for my family. I was previously dealing with a daycare that did not prioritize my daughter’s nutrition, and that was extremely important to me. From the moment we came here, everything changed. Not only do they genuinely care about the children, but they also offer vegan meal options, which means the world to me. It gave me so much peace knowing my daughter is being nourished properly while she’s there. The staff is incredibly loving and welcoming. My daughter connected with them so quickly, and that alone spoke volumes. She actually enjoys going to school and has consistently had great days since starting here. The facility is very clean and smells amazing as soon as you walk in. Their security is top tier, which made me feel safe and confident leaving my child in their care. And the playground? Absolutely jaw-dropping. I honestly wish I could play there myself! I’m beyond grateful for this school and everything they provide. Highly, highly recommend!
