  • We’ve had an excellent experience at STAR Community School. Our daughter has learned so much over the past three years and all of the teachers and staff have been so supportive and kind. We highly recommend!

  • My daughter has attended STAR Community School since she was 6 months old, and she recently graduated from their Pre-K program. I can honestly say that choosing this school was one of the best decisions we made. The teachers and staff truly care about every child, and the school has a warm, family-like atmosphere that is hard to find anywhere else. That culture starts with the Director, who sets high expectations for the staff while ensuring every child is loved, supported, and encouraged to succeed. My daughter received an excellent educational foundation that has prepared her well for elementary school, and I am grateful for the care, patience, and dedication shown to her over the years. I highly recommend STAR Community School to any parent looking for quality childcare and early education for infants through Pre-K. If you’re looking for a place where your child will be nurtured, challenged, and treated like family, this is the school for you.

  • Star Community School has some decent ideas about what a quality early childhood program should look like, but those ideas rarely show up in day‑to‑day practice. While the building is generally clean, there were several days when the toddler room had a strong diaper odor that made the environment feel poorly managed. A major concern was the level of teacher burnout. A few staff members appeared overwhelmed, and it showed in how they interacted with the children. At times, it felt like certain children were being singled out or treated differently based on past normal toddler behavior, almost as if grudges were being held. When children got hurt or had conflicts, the default response was often to blame the child rather than look at supervision or the situation. This created an emotional atmosphere that didn’t feel consistently safe or supportive. Communication was another ongoing issue. When concerns were raised, the responses were frequently defensive or inconsistent. Information about diaper changes, classroom ratios, or why additional children were in a room often didn’t match what I observed in person. There were also moments where it seemed like administrators were more focused on protecting staff than addressing legitimate concerns. That lack of transparency made it difficult to trust that problems were being handled appropriately. The school also follows the DeKalb County schedule, which means long breaks and frequent closures. On top of that, there were fundraisers every few weeks and repeated requests for parents to supply basic items like cleaning supplies, even though tuition is already high. Combined, these things made the program feel unstable and financially strained. This school could be much better with stronger accountability, consistent communication, and a healthier emotional environment for both staff and children. But until those basic standards of care are reliably met, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

  • A close friend goes to church here. I visited with her. The guest speaker and the guest vocalist were EXCELLENT!! I didn't connect well with the place otherwise.

  • Back in 2005 and 2006 I was only there for the second grade and believe me I still talk about this to this here day and for the rest of my life This school isn’t always will be my best one and believe me I wish I never left. If it wasn’t for my mother when she took me away back to New York City believe me, I would’ve stayed OK and I can still remember some of my friends names, and one of my teachers names the first ones from my friends some full Names, and other ones just first names the first one though that is half is to be Sion, KAYLA Brooklyn I believe possibly Kenny, or Lenny, and now For the full names, Jerrod Cooper, Christopher Kiki, Christopher Dunlap, Marcus, Ryan, Jeremy, Ryan, Joshua Alvarado and then of course, my own self Joshua Henrique Navarro Outerbridge And last, but not least miss lamb, our old gym teacher, and thankfully when it comes to my very own photographic memory, I can still see the school inside and out, even though I haven’t seen the inside of it for years and sadly for years to come if I could, I would definitely find a way to alternate my past and still have the good friends and family members that I have met in the past and still know to this here day But thankfully, I still have my memories and including I can still remember the events that we had such as pumpkin, picking on the front lawn of the church going to the Atlanta zoo I believe on chartered Atlanta city buses career day, all of the big businesses vehicles Boiling eggs for Easter, and coloring them to picture day Bake sale yard sale in a picture with Santa Claus and my Most personal favorite every Friday we would all bring our money for pizza day and what I mean by that one the school would order pizza from various pizzerias any of them nearby I guess and believe me it was a grand time I am still to this your day I still miss it Including some of the most best grand friends I’ve ever had in my life, including All of the teachers, the assistant principal, the principal, including our class pets, because in my homeroom for the second grade my homeroom always sat right next to the third grade classroom and thankfully still like I said before when I say it again, when it comes to my photographic memory, see you Timothy‘s is the only school that I know of that has two homerooms per grade and our homeroom Had its self to fish tanks. Even one of them had its own little periscope that we can look inside of the fish tank with a little diver, looking at all of the fish, and I remember one year when our fish had died instead of flushing him down the toilet, like usual, we decided to bury him inside of our very own Saint Timothy‘s garden and I remember my first year and I was about to go to Saint Timothy‘s the day before I went I believe or it was the same day as it was the first day of school I remember watching channel 2 action news and they had showed that DeKalb County sheriffs had to respond to the school because a very big rain storm appeared the same night before the first day of school and it had hit in our very own softball field house a lightning bolt hit it and fried it and they showed that it was so badly damaged. The school had to terret down and then rebuild it. Believe me if I could I would definitely go right over there right now right this second, I just have my way with that exact same school that I call home and also my most very favorite memory, making spiritual station clubhouse from here on then and I hope to God forever and ever that Saint Timothy’s does not shut down as a school &/OR as a church all together 100% straight up and about without no doubt
