  • The teachers at this daycare are wonderful and are the main reason I am giving 3 stars instead of fewer. They are caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children, especially, Ms. Smalls, the lead Private Pre-K teacher. I am forever grateful for the love and support the team provided my daughter. The price is reasonable, they provide meals and snacks included in the fee (other centers I was asked to pay for separately), and the have lots of fun activities for the kids and several opportunities throughout the year for parents to participate. Unfortunately, my experience with the administration has been very different. Specifically, the director, Simmie, has been unresponsive to questions and concerns. When communication does occur, her tone comes across as rude, dismissive, and condescending. At first, I thought this was an isolated experience, but over the past several months I have spoken with other parents who, unsolicited, provided similar feedback. Running a childcare center requires balancing the realities of operating a business with maintaining positive, respectful relationships with families. In my opinion, that balance has not been achieved as Simmie seems focused on the primary. It also seems that members of the front office staff who genuinely want to help are not always given the tools or information they need to do so effectively, which can be frustrating for them as the front line staff seen daily when parents need help. I think it’s worth noting, that this daycare is family owned/ran which is great and one of the reasons I was happy to get my daughter in. But when the director is also the owners' daughter, from a parent's perspective, it can create the impression that concerns about leadership are unlikely to result in meaningful accountability or change. One final thing I’ll note is that I also expressed concerns about the daycare's social media practices but (unsurprisingly), received no response. Students are often in pictures proudly showing off work or awards. It’s great to get the kids excited, but some public social media posts include children's names along with their photos. While other parents may feel differently, I personally view this as an unnecessary safety risk. In today's world, you never know who may be viewing public social media pages, and I am not a fan of having any child's photo and full name with the name of the school they attend, being posted online for anyone to see. Again I’ll reiterate that the teachers (leads, assistants, and aftercare) are amazing and deserve recognition for the excellent work they do every day, but the treatment by leadership significantly impacted my family’s overall experience.

  • There is so much I want to say about Towne Lake. Our son attended in the 3 year old class and he just graduated private pre-K with Ms. Smalls (which I HIGHLY recommend!!!). Towne Lake truly cares about the kids, the cleanliness and food quality, but also about the standard of care and learning that the teachers provide. They host town halls with parents to share updates on what’s going on in the school and community, openly and transparently answer any questions from parents, and they share updates since the last town halls to show parents that they take action on any feedback given. They hold their teachers to high standards and the teachers truly seem like they enjoy their work. I love getting the pictures and video throughout the day! Now, the private PreK teacher Ms. Smalls, is a national treasure. She is an INCREDIBLE teacher!! The kids absolutely love and respect her. She is passionate about her work and making sure the kids aren’t just ready for Kindergarten, but are excelling way past the kindergarten assessment standards. She is kind, she is highly organized and consistent. The way she celebrates the kids, parents, celebrates holidays is always heartfelt and intentional. I can’t say enough great things about Ms. Smalls and Towne lake. PreK graduation ceremony was so special and the many ways they celebrated the students before graduation was so thoughtful! Towne Lake is a special place and I’m so happy for my son’s time there. And now it’s my daughter’s turn! Oh and my son participated in Amazing Athletes while there, which I also highly recommend!!

  • I love this location so much !! I met almost all the teachers and I loved that the infant teachers will wave the older kids from the windows because THEY WERE THEIR TEACHERS!! From infants to the preK class 😭 This isn’t just a school but it’s a family. I feel so welcomed, everyone is a mother or just a sister who understands how it feels to love a child. I cried dropping my daughter off but everyone would reassure me that she will do just fine, but I was crying because I felt betrayed how happy she was running into the classroom to greet her friends. I love that I am updated with pictures and an activity list through their app so that I can check in on my daughter. They always encourage parents to call the office if I ever need reassurance that she is doing okay. They clean mornings, during nap time, and after closing !! ALSO I LOVE THAT THEY DO NAP TIMES!! This school is for children, to allow a child to play with friends, do circle time for reading, have a playroom appropriate for their age. Shared lunch time and snack time with classmates. I love the community they have created in the school 🩷

  • The worst experience we have ever had, full of prejudices! I do not recommend it! My son has a developmental delay and the professionals are not qualified to care for hyperactive children! In addition, they demanded a diaper that my son is allergic to... disappointing because I was so happy that my son was developing but this became a nightmare. They left my son alone and sent me messages frequently to pick him up and I had to cancel my work... terrible place... very sad to know that a school acted this way. I also witnessed one of the teachers yelling at the children one day when I went to pick up my son early and my son has been yelling frequently, I believe because he learned from the teacher. My son was physically and verbally abused. I posted a picture of my son's injured arm and face but it wasn't showing up in the review.

  • I absolutely love Towne Lake Academy. My son has enjoyed his time there for the past 2 years and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything he’s learned. Ms. Smalls is a true gem and I wish we could take her to kindergarten with us!! I’ll always vouch for TLA because they really do care about our littles and are always hands on with anything you need. Kayla and Felicia do a very good job keeping the school organized, communicating with parents about upcoming events and they’re always smiling and positive. Great establishment !!

  • We’ve been at TLA since my son was a year old. He has transitioned two rooms since then. I have always felt he is in the best care at this daycare. He is excited when he he goes to “school” and his teachers greet him with a hug. I can tell my son is thriving at Towne Lake Academy; they are always providing fun activities for the children. All of the teachers and staff are great. Excellent communication. Highly recommend if you are looking for a daycare in the area.
