I went into the facility to see if they had an opening, and I was very upfront and office and told them my son has autism and is delayed with speech. The teacher was very welcoming at first, but her demeanor changed as soon as I said he had autism. Then the conversation switched to, I am not sure if we have any openings, so I will leave a message for the owner/director to call you back. I never received a phone call. I called there several times and left messages, but this person never returned my call. If there was no space or you just simply are NOT all-inclusive because of a label, just say that. However, the lack of communication told me everything I needed to know. People do not want to communicate until you leave a negative review, and then you get the generic "Please reach out to us; we would like to better understand." ...
Natasha McMillanJun 4, 2024Very clean and safe facility. My daughter has been attending for almost a year and we will be returning
Tamirria JacksonMay 20, 2024This Daycare is in an excellent almost perfect location for the Fairburn community. Unfortunately, the owner is extremely unprofessional, rude, money hungry and lacks the ability to communicate effectively. She is never on the premises and when you leave a message to speak with her she NEVER ABSOLUTELY NEVER returns your phone calls. She is not easily accessible and when I say does not work with the younger moms who works everyday and does not have the luxury of receiving government assistance. It seems like it is all about the money. Threats of the child not being able to return until the bill is paid in full or the staff calling you throughout the work day not once, twice but up to 3 times a day to tell you you need to pay your bill or not bring the child back is what you get from them not them asking if there is a problem, do you need help or a little extra time to clear the balance up. Having a monetary relationship without a real and genuine relationship with those who keeps the doors open to your establishment is the quickest way of not prospering. Both parties are dependent upon each other and this relationship should never be one sided. There is no compassion or helpfulness that resonates from Management at all and this is my personal experience/take away. There is no need in speaking with the staff because they may have the title of Director or Assistant Director/Manager but they do not have the ability to make decisions or just care not to. Either way the over all concept of having an "Assistant or Director" of the facility is an extension of the owner however that is not the case. Titles are being distributed with no decision making abilities. Quite disturbing or micromanagement at its finest. Having a business owed by a woman of color is already hard enough however, it does not give one the right to treat someone like their voice does not matter. While I loved my grandsons teachers since the day he started at this establishment Management is the issue ( or lack thereof of competent leadership) and I refuse to support unprofessional behavior. I would recommend the Director (along with those in Management positions) take a few classes in effective communication, organization & HR to really understand how a business is supposed to be ran. Yes, I have pulled my grandson from this Daycare and placed him in another daycare that from what has been shown seems to be a great fit. They provide an open door communication policy a healthy learning environment and Management is present/available/visable everyday we walk in the building. Through all the negative things I previously heard about Walk, Leap Grow Daycare I never believed it and still wanted to give it a try. I can say now that convenience is not always the way to go and supporting those in your community can be extremely challenging especially if they do not appreciate you patronizing their own place of business. It works both ways and both parties deserve respect so to not further go down the rabbit hole with Management I decided to cut our losses and move on. I pray nothing but continued overflowing abundance in this business however, just not with the hard earned money of my daughter or myself. Signed a family who has more self respect than what has been given to them!
Natalie ReynoldsOct 28, 2022On Friday, May 3, 2019, I picked my niece up from this daycare facility, and it was not until I walked outside that I noticed that she had a significant amount of scratches on her forehead, a scratch on her knee, and a few scratches on her right arm. I know that she was not sent to the daycare that way because I saw my niece the night before. When I informed my sister of her injuries, my sister immediately called the facility, and no one seemed to have any answers as to how my niece received these scratches. My niece, who is three, informed me that she fell on the playground. Every adult in that facility, who should be capable of effective communication, failed to inform any of my niece's relatives in their system of this matter. When I arrived to the facility to pick her up, no one said anything about the matter nor did they have the decency to disinfect and cover the wounds. If the daycare lacks personnel who are capable of actively watching the children, actively involving the parents of things of this nature, or have skills in basic first aid , then the credibility of this facility, especially its staff, needs to be evaluated. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
Whitney WigginsMay 5, 2019Teachers seem to work well together, son always happy to go. The facility is clean and lots of things appear to be new and taken care of. Feedback and communication are good some teachers even go the extra mile and the other parents seem to be friendly with each other (good for children networking outside of school). Recommended
G WalkerMar 25, 2018Despicable behavior is allowed to go on at this facility! They hire unqualified people and children are neglected and abused!
