My son goes here. He started when he was four because I was pregnant with baby number two and I was having a rough pregnancy. We looked at a few preschools in the neighborhood and chose Playmate for many reasons. For me, its affordable, the staff is really nice, and it's walking distance from our home. My son also preferred Playmate but for different reasons - he liked that it was small (the other schools had a lot of kids and were a big chaotic), he liked the lunches (he eats EVERYTHING they serve!), and the kids were all friendly. We also liked that one staff member speaks Japanese (my husband is Japanese and our son is bilingual so it's nice if he can't express something as clearly in English), that in the summer they have quite a few excursions, they have very few breaks, and did I mention they were affordable? (Sorry, it's Hawaii and that's important to me :)) The only thing I didn't like was that the playground/outdoor area is a little run down (though my son doesn't care) and the only thing my son doesn't like is nap time (something he'd get anywhere we looked). Overall we are very happy we found Playmate and that he could go somewhere with such a small, caring staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking. :) Final note: for more information it's best to call the school. I had originally emailed and it took a while to hear back. ;)
