  • My family is incredibly blessed to be part of the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic School community. From the moment you walk through the doors, it is very clear that this is a community where every child is valued, encouraged, and loved. The teachers, staff, and principal go above and beyond every single day providing a truly inspiring growth of everyone of their students. In my opinion they are very genuine on how they approach their students with dedication and compassion. This community creates an environment where every child is challenged to succeed, supported when they struggle, and encouraged to become kind, confident, and faith-filled individuals. We are very grateful for the amazing staff at Saint Joan of Arc. Their hard work, patience, and unwavering dedication makes a lasting difference in the lives of their students and families. It is a blessing to know our children are surrounded by people who not only provide an outstanding education but also model Christian values through their words and actions. Thank you, Saint Joan of Arc, for being such a wonderful place to learn, grow, and strengthen our faith. We couldn't ask for a better school and community. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for an exceptional Catholic education.

  • I cannot say enough wonderful things about St. Joan of Arc School. My daughter is currently in first grade, and her experience has been nothing short of exceptional. She absolutely loves her teacher, Ms. VanLandSchoot, and looks forward to going to school every single day. It is incredibly rewarding as a parent to see her not only happy, but truly thriving academically, socially, and emotionally. The level of support throughout the entire school is remarkable. From the teachers to the staff, everyone is deeply invested in each child’s success and well-being. Principal Selden leads with genuine kindness, strong values, and faith-based guidance, which is reflected in the positive and nurturing environment felt throughout the school. One of the most telling signs of how much my daughter enjoys school is that her only concern is making sure she is never late—she doesn’t want to miss even a single moment of her day. That speaks volumes about the environment the school has created. The community at St. Joan of Arc is just as impressive. Every parent and child I have encountered has been courteous, respectful, and welcoming. The students are being shaped into individuals who truly set a high standard in both character and behavior. The school itself is top-notch—clean, well-organized, and equipped with all the resources a child could need to succeed. It is clear that excellence is a priority in every aspect. Even with a 30-minute commute, I would not hesitate to drive even longer, because the quality of education, care, and values my daughter receives here is truly priceless. St. Joan of Arc is, without a doubt, one of the best schools, and I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this community.

  • I wasn't going to do a review, but I felt compelled to counter the ridiculous 1 star review left a few weeks ago about an entire school on the basis of an experience at a trunk or treat event. My son, who is an actual student at SJA, absolutely loves it there. The staff is great and the new school is beautiful. In response to the trunk or treat event, the event is very clearly a fundraising event and the $10 entry fee is clearly communicated on flyers sent home with students. If your friend didn't communicate that to you, that seems to me to be a problem you should take up with your friend. As for there not being room in the parking lot, are you upset the parking lot was not design to support such a strong turnout for a fundraiser? Seems like an odd thing to design a parking lot for. The location of the school is indeed not centrally located in Bettendorf. I emplore the previous reviewer to locate a plot of land in the heart of Bettendorf large enough for a new school AND church, which is a future project to be completed on the same plot of land. This vision, whether you agree with it or not, is communicated during Mass at St John Vianney and Our Lady of Lourdes frequently and been in the works for quite a while. It's fine if you do not attend one of these churches, but if you don't maybe you don't really have a say in the location? Anyway, as an actual parent to a SJA student, I highly recommend the school.

  • My friends kiddo goes to 2nd grade here. First, it is in a nearly inaccessible part of town because apparently they feel that a centralized location is too easy for less fortunate kids to get to. Second, we took mine and her kids to do a trunk-or-treat here. These people are so pompous and boujee that the asked for $10 to get in. Who charges for little kids to be able to have a good time and collect candy from other people’s trunks! When we said we only have a card, they straight turned us away! Little kids in costume with their hearts broken. Had to go get cash at the gas station and by the time we got back there was no longer admittance due to not having enough “room” in their parking lot. Wow, great job St. Joan of Ark. Way to give back to your community who do pay their tuition and taxes which we know you cash in on. Be ashamed of yourselves. $10? Keep your boujee trunk-or -treat.
