Honestly? I had my son there for about 2 yrs. The staff seemed great at first and my son seemed to really like it. After a little while he seemed to have some aggression issues and the staff brought it to my attention. I advised as the parent that my son might need some more stimulation. He is a bigger than most kiddo for his age and I asked if he could be moved up. The owners said they weren’t able to due to where is birthday landed but openly admitted to saying a child who was just a bit older than my son might not be ready to move up. So instead of moving my son who they said was mentally more than ready to move up and have a hard conversation with the child’s parents who wasn’t mentally ready to move up they kept my son in a class that was not suitable for him. After a few months they discussed with me that it might now be a good fit for us and I accepted, they gave me til the end of May to find a new daycare and when the time came (after about two weeks) they decided that maybe they could fully move him into the next age group classroom and see if he would benifit from this. He started doing great. Then after a few more weeks his aggressive behavior came back. Every time they would come to me with the situation they would tell me my son was provoked and then they would just watch the situation escalate and happen instead of intervening. They started blaming my son who is much bigger than most kids and send him home day after day. I am not trying to say that there aren’t at home things that are going on that can be contributing to my sons behavior but the aggression only came out in this daycare. Quite baffling honestly. No one could seem to understand why. Even though incident after incident my son was either being hit or provoked by another child hitting him or trying to take something he was playing with and when he wouldn’t give it to them the other child would hit him and then the situation would escalate. In no way am I ok with hitting or pushing or physical aggression but I just dont understand why my child was the ONLY one being sent home and all the problems were blamed on him when other children were provoking him. After a few more months the staff called my child a liability and said he was extremely violent. He’s 4. So in all honesty I don’t believe this was a great fit for my son and I feel as though many situations could’ve been dealt with so much differently. Very sad with how the staff handled him.
