SHIRE EARLY EDUCATION

We've been so lucky to have both our kids at The Shire. Our daughter just graduated and our son is currently enrolled, and it's been an incredible 2-3 years with this school. The outdoor, free-range style is what really sets The Shire apart. The kids are outside constantly, rain or shine, snow or sun, they just dress for it and go. Our daughter loves eating straight from the gardens and has made such close friends there. Ms. Tink, who owns and runs the school, has been wonderful to work with and clearly cares about every child. This year they started field trips too, the kids have gotten to visit the Children's Museum, the Boise Art Museum, and Zoo Boise, and it's been fun to be part of. The annual Halloween party is a highlight for our family. The kids "trick or treat" around the preschool grounds and some of the neighboring houses, it's such a sweet tradition. Overall, the community at The Shire feels like family. We can't recommend it enough.

We have loved our time at the Shire! We are so thrilled our kid is safe, happy and thriving there. Such a wonderful community of families and teachers, and love the activities and field trips our child has been able to experience!

The Shire has been an incredible preschool for our family. They truly see and value each child as an individual, nurturing their unique strengths while gently supporting areas for growth with patience, kindness, and care. Their emphasis on exploration, communication, and fostering a love of learning is perfect for this stage of development. We've loved watching our children grow in confidence and curiosity while always feeling safe, supported, and genuinely happy. We couldn't be more grateful for the positive impact The Shire has had on our family!

Our 3.5 year experience at the Shire with our son has been stellar. They teach all the things that we value the most - friendship, a love of the outdoors, creative expression, compassion, literacy, math, science, art, inclusivity and belonging, and most of all- FUN! The philosophy, the space, the sense of community and love, the true friendship, and above all else the caring and deeply passionate teachers are what keep us coming back again and again - even as our son is now in elementary school. We will always be grateful to Tink and Shaundra for creating this wonderful school just in time for our son to get the best possible start we could have ever hoped for. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

We love the Shire! We have had two sons go through the shire and we cannot wait for our youngest to start. The two things that set this school apart, would be the great community of families cultivated by the staff and the “free range” style of preschool they have. Our kids have planted in gardens and hatched and tended to chickens! The kids are out exploring and imagining at every opportunity. The teachers are thoughtful, kind and invested in every students well being. They also are improving and learning new skills, curriculum and tools constantly to help guide their students. We personally have experienced the other side of a really awful preschool so it really made us appreciate even more what a special place the shire, it’s staff and families have to offer!
