We could not be happier with the care our grandson receives here. The teachers are loving, patient, and truly invested in the children. He is excited to go every day, which says everything. The staff creates such a warm, safe, and nurturing environment, and we are so grateful for the positive impact they have had on his growth and happiness.
Amy ShapiroMay 27, 2026My grandson Miles is thriving here. He loves his teachers and the staff. They are so attentive and caring. What a wonderful and warm environment.
David ParmacekMay 27, 2026This business is so unprofessional, these reviews are horrible, and the staff and management are horrid. All the management staff are unprofessional and constantly treat each other like High school students, when a job is supposed to be professional. One of the helpers put their foot on the kid while trying to put them to sleep so they could go to sleep. Which violates many DCFS rules!! They also leave the door open multiple times a day. Jen is personally very unprofessional and treats staff horribly. Personally, this establishment is very horrible, and they need to be more vigilant of the KIDS AND THE STAFF! I recommend that people from Zion, Beach Park, and Waukegan look for a different daycare.
Jacqueline SanchezMay 1, 2026I can’t say enough good things about this daycare ❤️ My child attends here, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The staff are truly incredible so loving, patient, and kind. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my child is in such a caring and supportive environment every single day. No matter what anyone else might say, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The level of attention, warmth, and dedication they show to every child really stands out. I’m beyond grateful we found this place 10/10, highly recommend!
JessicaApr 18, 2026The level of unprofessionalism and disrespect from the owners and staff is unreal. My kids father was dating a director Marilyn, at ASF. They signed my kids up for daycare and boost while they were together. They broke up and are no longer together & I asked for her to be removed from the pick up or drop off list for my daughter and they told me as her mother and guardian and PRIMARY PARENT through the court, that I didn’t have that authority to remove the ex from the pick up list only my kids father can. The owner group texted me and my kids dad which is also very unprofessional, the other owner Jen, who is friends with said director and at the time my kid dads, screenshotted and was quoting personal texts between me and my kids father to me and was using them against me when I had a concern about my child. the staff is incredibly rude, and the main door is always propped open or BROKEN so anybody can walk right in( I have pictures for proof) they don’t check for ids when picking up children and half the time an adult is nowhere to be found when entering the building and anybody can walk into the rooms! This place is trash, If you care about your children look elsewhere!!!
kathryn BennettMar 31, 2026I cannot say enough amazing things about A Solid Foundation and its owner, Jen. From day one, it has been clear how much heart, intention, and care she puts into this place. Jen has created a nurturing, welcoming environment where families feel supported and babies are genuinely loved. My 6-month-old’s teachers are absolutely phenomenal. Miss Jocynn, Miss Kayla, Miss Rei, and Miss Amy go above and beyond every single day. Their patience, kindness, and attentiveness are unmatched. They treat my baby like their own, and it gives me such peace of mind knowing he is surrounded by caregivers who are not only highly capable, but truly invested in his happiness and development. The communication, consistency, and genuine love shown by this team make all the difference. Watching how excited my baby is to see his teachers tells me everything I need to know. If you are looking for a place built on trust, compassion, and excellence, A Solid Foundation lives up to its name in every way. We are so grateful to be part of this community and could not recommend Jen and her amazing team more highly!

Questions parents ask about A SOLID FOUNDATION
Is A SOLID FOUNDATION a licensed child care provider in Illinois?
- Yes. A SOLID FOUNDATION holds Illinois licence 524082, listed as "License issued (IL)" by the Department of Children and Family Services, licensed as a day care center in Lake County. Confirm current standing at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov before enrolling.
What ages does A SOLID FOUNDATION accept?
- Illinois licenses A SOLID FOUNDATION for children 6 weeks to 6 years during the day, with a licensed day capacity of 105. The span is what the licence permits, not a statement of which ages have places free.
What languages are spoken at A SOLID FOUNDATION?
- The licence record lists English. That is what the provider reported to the state, not a guarantee that a speaker is on site at every hour.
Does this page show inspection results for A SOLID FOUNDATION?
- No. Illinois publishes monitoring and licensing reports going back to 2010 through Sunshine at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects A SOLID FOUNDATION's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the monitoring record.
