I am writing to share my positive experience with children of America. My son, Hector attended the daycare many years ago, and even now at 16 years old, he still has fond memories of his time there and the staff. Throughout his time, I never encountered any issues with the staff. Everyone was caring and attentive, and I always felt my son was in a safe and nurturing environment. Megan, in particular, stands out as a wonderful person, and I appreciate that we've stayed connected over the years. I wholeheartedly recommend Children of American to any parent seeking quality childcare. Sincerely, Mayra
iveth DelMar 14, 2026My nephew has been attending COA since he was an infant, he is now 3! He is always excited to go to school and see his teachers, and that right there tells us all we need to know about how his day goes and how much he is cared for! Each teacher he has had, has been better than the last. Ms Meghan, and Ms Natalie up front have been nothing but professional and caring any time I have picked him up. As someone that has been a former daycare teacher I know and understand the things that go on behind the scenes and never once would you be able to tell when it’s a stressful day for these teachers and I am sure there has been some stressful days! I will always recommend COA to any friend, as they truly care about the work that they do!
Chelsey SanchezMar 14, 2026We recently toured Children of America South Elgin and were so impressed! The school was clean, organized, and the classrooms were full of happy, engaged children. The staff were welcoming and took the time to answer all of our questions. Meghan and Natalie were especially wonderful—they were warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the children and the school. After meeting them and seeing the environment, we feel confident and excited to be enrolling our child here!
Alexis SanchezMar 14, 2026My 2 kids attended COA in South Elgin from 3 months old until they started kindergarten. They also attended summer camp after that. We love this place and the teachers and staff. They are all so friendly and truly care. They honestly felt like family that we saw every day. We loved the daily updates with pictures and exactly what they ate that day. I could not thank them enough and will always be grateful to this place and the teachers there!
Cindy KeatingMar 14, 2026As a parent, transparency, professionalism and accountability in childcare are extremely important, unfortunately that was not my experience here. I raised concerns regarding the conduct of Meghan Poiereir expecting the situation to be handled professionally and taken seriously. Instead, my complaint felt dismissed and there was little accountability or transparency in how it was addressed. There also appeared to be frequent staff turnover, which made it difficult to feel confident about consistency in the care of the children. For several weeks I was unable to see my son through the daycare cameras. When I asked if it would take weeks to resolve the issue, I was told it would not, but it ultimately did take weeks before I was able to see my child again. Cleanliness was another concern. While there appears to be a cleaning crew, it did not seem like toys and individual items the children use daily were being deeply sanitized. From my experience, illnesses seemed to circulate frequently throughout the year, which raised concerns about sanitation practices. There were also periods where my toddler was placed in the infant room for weeks, which was frustrating to see as a parent. Another very concerning part of this experience was how the situation ended. After raising my concerns, my child was immediately disenrolled and the police were called, even though there was no threat made. This response felt extreme and upsetting for a parent who was simply trying to address concerns about their child’s care. Parents trust childcare providers with the most important people in their lives, their children. Transparency, communication and consistent standards of care should always come first. Advice to other parents: Ask questions about staff turnover, cleaning practices, camera access and how concerns are handled before enrolling. I hope these concerns are taken seriously and reviewed to ensure the facility is maintaining the level of care and operational standards that parents expect from licensed childcare providers. If other parents have had similar experiences, I encourage them to share as well so families can make informed decisions.
Cynthia Crystal FloresMar 13, 2026My nephew has been attending children of America south Elgin since he was a baby! He has learned so much through their amazing star curriculum. The school also helps the community and teaches the children the importance of helping others. The school events are alway planned so wonderfully and involve the whole family. The management team does such a wonderful job. The teachers are so loving and caring ! I highly recommend this location if you’re looking for educational childcare. With staff that truly cares for your families needs!
