I would not recommend Children of America in Flossmoor to families of children with medical or developmental needs. We spent an entire month completing paperwork and preparing for my child to start. Two days before his scheduled start date, we still had no clear answers and had to contact corporate ourselves just to find out what was going on. After the anticipated start date had already passed, we were finally told our child was being denied because he would require a one-on-one professional. While Ms. Tasha, the assistant director, was very kind throughout the process, the overall communication and handling of the situation was extremely disappointing. We adjusted our schedules and delayed looking into other childcare options because we believed enrollment was moving forward. Had we been given honest communication earlier in the process, we could have spent that valuable time finding a center better suited for our child’s needs. The lack of transparency caused unnecessary stress and wasted time for our family. - Malika Gates
Malika AleashaMay 8, 2026If you are reading the reviews to better decide if this Children of America facility is a good fit for your family/child let my review be your sign to do your due diligence when considering this facility. My child was discriminated against on his FIRST day. So to be clear his very first day at this facility was his very last. It was so bad I was directed by DCFS to submit a complaint as well as involve the Illinois department of human rights. (Which I have and is ongoing so I will not say too much) Due to the prejudice and inhumane acts of a teacher's aid Ms. Danielle, I was given the option by Ms. Tyra, the director to immediately pull my child from the program (which usually requires a 30 day notice) but Ms. Tyra also told me I would lose the remainder of the week's tuition (about $200) if he did not finish out the week at the facilty. Why would I subject my child to potentially endure ongoing mistreatment? Corporate was involved and after 3 mins of speaking they issued me a FULL refund including any deposits/registration fees due to the severity of my family's mistreatment. The rep that contacted me from Corporate was extremely upset and apologetic after hearing what happened. The outcome was ultimately to only "re-train" this aid who remained unapologetic and blameless even when corporate launched their investigation. I must also note I can clearly see via the classroom cameras she was not pleased whenever she had to get out of her chair (where she sat 90% of the day) to care for the kids due to her large size which leads me to believe she is unfit to work with toddlers who are constantly busy. I had to return to the facility to pick up my childs belongings and even that interaction was unprofessional and no apologies were uttered. My son is 3 and cannot speak for himself. If you love your child and want to protect them take this as your sign to be careful considering this place. They care less about meaningful child care more about the amount of money gained from the enrollment of your child. I know workers are hard to come by and the facilty chose to advocate for their employee but this review is to advocate for the children. They may come underneath this review to initiate damage control but please pay attention...I can only warn others about this place and pray for reconciliation for the mean spirited people my son, my husband and I encountered
Leah BeckleyMar 23, 2026The preschool 2A class is hands down amazing ms.Nicholas taught our son so many things including how to speak up for himself because he’s a shy kid. My son comes home everyday with so many good things to say about her. Not to mention the adorable photos she send of our son during the day.
Precious BensonJan 23, 2026My son has been at the daycare for 2 years now.. He loves it but even more because of Ms Nicholas. He comes on talking about her a lot and how she’s very Attentive towards him. Since he has been in here class he has learned a lot and really appreciate her.
cornesha masonJan 15, 2026My son has attended coa since July, I have seen a large growth in his development thanks to the implementation of the curriculum and structure and ofcourse his amazing teachers Ms Jada and ms Toni who assisted in providing a amazing transition from a home center to a preschool education setting!
Luz RosalesDec 12, 2025As a first time mother, I was nervous to leave my daughter in the care of others when I had to return to work when she was 6 weeks old, but the entire infant room team are amazing! They genuinely care about my daughter, take an interest in her development, and make me feel safe. They tell me stories about her day when I pick her up, share pictures of all her new activities, and ask about her evenings and weekends. I can tell they really know my daughter well and enjoy spending time with her, and it makes me feel like they are part of my village helping to raise her right along side me!
