  • Mary Meyer gets it! The school set a foundation of social emotional learning through purposeful play for our daughter. We were in search of a preschool school that would foster creativity, imaginative play, and social skills for our child. When you step inside the school you instantly enter a whimsical and enchanting place where children can explore and be the kid they are or want to be. We made friends with other likeminded parents/guardians, instantly arranged playdates, and attended many birthday parties! We felt seen and included. Three words to describe Mary Meyer are community, special, and quality.

  • You will not find a better preschool program in Chicago. This school has been around for so long and has everything down to a science. Parents are welcomed as collaborators and community members. The half day program allows kids to explore individual interests (and parents will help coordinate activities). Teachers make the program what it is -- and they stick around and have decades of experience. My son is in the afternoon class. He gave up his nap the first day of school, and goes to bed every night tired and happy. He's gained confidence socially, emotionally and is ready for next year.

  • We absolutely love Mary Meyer School for our daughter. It has been a magical place where she learns to be a better human and friend. The brilliant teachers are attentive and caring and make school a feel safe and nurturing. The communication channels with the parents are top notch- you truly feel a part of the community. In addition the facilities are perfect for preschool age children- the playscape in the backyard is perfect for hours of outdoor play.

  • The Mary Meyer Preschool is excellent! I have been blown away by my child's growth and development since attending. The school's philosophy is to purposefully play, and my child looks forward to going to school everyday to play with his friends. All of the faculty and staff are dedicated and care so much about my child and his development. The parent community is also very vibrant, and I have enjoyed making new parent friends.

  • Mary Meyer Preschool is such a warm and inviting place, it truly feels like an extension of home (with a bit more paint and glitter - ha!). The teachers and staff are amazing at foster our littlest ones to develop kindness, listening skills, problem solving skills, patience and learning the more basic fundamentals through purposeful play. My third child is at MM right now and loving every minute of it. The curriculum is creative, imaginative and playful - drawing self portraits, looking for the gingerbread man, creating art that works on their fine motor skills and cooperation. I cannot speak more highly of this school and could not imagine having our children start their school process anywhere else!
