My family has had an amazing experience with NCNS! Our first son is a recent graduate of NCNS, and our second son is now in his first year in the Duckling program! School has been great for my kid's development, and my wife and I have made some great friends in the community through NCNS. We moved to Northbrook a few years back and did not really know anybody, and NCNS was also a great first step for us in getting to know other young families in the area.
Nate BarajasMar 13, 2025NCNS has been an absolute dream after having our child during COVID. From day 1 I have had a parent community and met some of my best friends here. The community is really a community and whether you or your children extroverted or introverted there is something for you both here. Everyone is extremely down to earth, honest, and fun to be around. The teachers and director, Gail, are interested in the individual development of each child. When my daughter had a confidence issue during a class Gail and her teachers advocated for her without hesitation. This year we have tackled more of these issues head on. The best part is that every teacher knows every child regardless of what class they’re in. The facilities are set up for maximum child development. Each class looks and feels different, but has the child in mind. The outdoor playground is undoubtedly one of the best parts of the school. The curriculum is play based and makes learning fun while preparing the children for kindergarten. The activities they learn from are hands on and developmentally appropriate. The best part is that the class sizes are incredibly well proportioned and the children have access to two teachers in each room. Finally, the lunch bunch classes have added so much to our daughter’s experience. They allow her to gain confidence with other adults, meet other children, and practice skills like athletics, art, cooking, and engineering. NCNS has been an incredible experience for us thus far and we will undoubtedly miss our community at the end of the year.
Anna StidhamJan 30, 2025We have truly loved our experiences at NCNS! Our son has been attending for two years and they have been great at communicating, sharing and posting photos so I know what is going on each day. As an early childhood educator myself it's nice to send my child to a preschool where they know the importance of play.
Jordan PeltonJan 18, 2025I currently have 2 children enrolled in this school and 1 who finished their entire program (parent tot through pre-k). I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the community. My children LOVE it! The play based curriculum really makes learning fun. My daughter had a procedure last year and missed a few days of school and her teacher was texting me to ask how she was doing. It really meant a lot to me. Each class is like a little family where if you are running late to pick up you always have a whole text chain of parents or caregivers in the class who are always eager to help. I highly recommend this preschool.
Brittany AbramsonJan 18, 2025NCNS has been so wonderful for our child! The teachers at each grade level are very engaged and truly support the growth of each child’s individual needs. The environment is supported by an open play approach that gives the children options to choose from that suit their own areas of interest. Communication from the board, administrators and volunteers is always clear and timely. Their focus is always the wellbeing and positive development of the children. They provide many opportunities for connections for both parents and children with fun events throughout the year. We’ve also developed some really great friendships with families from NCNS. Our family highly recommends NCNS!
Beth LeeJan 18, 2025NCNS has been a fantastic experience for our daughter! The teachers are phenomenal and genuinely LOVE what they do. Their smiles and positive energy are so contagious that it spreads to the children and their families. NCNS is more than a preschool, it is a warm and loving community.
