This is a good school. My kids love it. The staff is very nice and friendly. The teachers all have positive attitudes. I would highly recommend
Lexus BlackSep 17, 2025Look no further, Nurturing Academy is a great place for your child to attend. Especially if you have to go off to work, school or, desire daycare. Rest assured that your child will be in a safe learning environment, where all potentials can be explored and nurtured by the staff.
Sharon EllisJul 28, 2022I do not recommend this daycare to anyone, and I regret recommending them to the two parents whom I did in the past. The new director at the South Holland site is very disrespectful, violates HIPAA privacy laws, and pretends to be nice with a soft and “professional” voice that she tries to put on. I removed my daughter from the day care on 2/25/21 due to discriminatory practices against my 2-year old which began when Caroll Lovey took over as the site director and which has resulted in legal measures being taken. At that time, I had a tuition copay overpayment on file in the amount of $284.xx. Almost $300! The site initially told me that they would refund me the money on my account once they received a payment from CCAP. They were paid on March 9th from CCAP, yet in still I called 2-weeks ago, and Ms. Lovey advised that they would be paid by the end of April which was a story, because CCAP told me what date they paid them and the amount paid. She also hung up on me after saying “Sorry I have to take another call.” as if I were not done talking or as if the other call had to be taken immediately and my concern was not important! DISRESPECTFUL! I called back the week after and someone told me that the payment was received and logged into their account, so they would process my refund and admitted that my refund should have been processed. Fast forward to today, NDLA II (I had to call again today requesting my money) gave me a Vanilla Gift card for $279.00 stating that they charged ME the fee that it cost them to get the gift card! Excuse me?! You could have returned my money in the form of cash or check. I have reported this to my attorney as well, because they wanted to make this painful for me knowing that these gift cards cannot be used at the ATM nor can they be liquidated into cash. I would’ve had no problem using the gift card had the amount been in full payment, but my attorney advised me to return it and he would get my payment from them in full because I should not have to pay fees associated with obtaining my refund when my method of payment was a direct debit from my checking account. There are maybe 3-4 ladies who are lovely, but the OWNER, THE DIRECTOR, and anyone else in a “leadership role” are horrible and claim to be Christians! They have stolen money from me in the past, charging me for transportation services during weeks when I were on vacation transporting my boys to school myself... and said that they could not make adjustments which is a lie, because they prorate tuition all the time, and have especially during COVID-19 times. I will ultimately forgive, but never forget. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD INTO NDLA OR ANY OF THEIR ASSOCIATED ESTABLISHMENTS.
Jamila BrownApr 30, 2021This is a fresh review. July 2019. I was attempting to transfer my child to this location due to bad experience at their other location on Wentworth which I do not recommend. I figured I’d just stay with the same daycare to keep the paperwork simple and switch locations to my surprise after visiting the daycare no one followed up with me they kept saying someone would follow up with me and I never got a follow up. After having to call 4 times myself to try and get some answers and still nothing I decided not to be bothered with them at all. If no one is responsible enough to follow up with a new parent how can I expect them to be responsible with my child. Business wise I had a bad experience with both locations. The other location the Staff was asking my son’s father about our love life to try and hook him up with other people or for herself however it was disrespectful and very unprofessional. I don’t know if they function the same but they are connected either way I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone regardless of the locations. -I don’t know how to reply to your response but the only misconception was the staff member my son’s father spoke with which he actually gave me clarity on while I was waiting for a follow up from the owner to communicate that with her everything else was true. I was informed he would have a spot in the first week in June when I stated I no longer wanted to transfer him was around the end of the month because of the run around calls were placed on my behalf. I have no reason to lie so please be honest. I admit the misconception about who he spoke with which I found out later from him and corrected my review on it. Again the owner has not reached back out for the final follow up about this yet so please be truthful. Thank you.
TempyluvJul 11, 2019I am a proud parent of NDLA II. My 1 year old and stayed until he was 6 years old, my daughter started when she was an infant until she left for kindergarten. My youngest was an infant when he started and just left for kindergarten. Currently, my 4th child is currently attending and I couldn't be more pleased with the services. The center worked my children over the years by teaching them and were very patient. I am very pleased and recommend this site to parents.
II_ThamesPlayzSep 18, 2018This is a great center with an amazing program. I have entrusted this facility with my grandson and would not do so unless I was confident that he was in excellent care. Being in the care of Mrs. Ellis is the closest thing to caring for him myself. I know of many families who feel the same as I do. I will continue to recommend this facility to families in need of excellent care.
