  • Our experience with Oak Park Building Blocks has been life-changing. Finding a place that truly understands the needs of each child can be difficult, but this team provides a level of professional expertise that is matched only by their empathy and love. They don't just 'watch' our kids; they celebrate them, support them in many different ways, and treat them like their own family. We are so thankful for the peace of mind they give us every day and will be forever grateful for their care and support.

  • OPBB is a wonderful, safe, and loving place filled with staff who are passionate about children. It feels like leaving your kids with extended family. I am also very impressed with the lesson plans and creative activities that are aimed at developing the whole child - mentally, emotionally, physically. The school also makes an effort to plan events that parents can participate in to build community. We feel grateful and blessed to be a part of the OPBB family.

  • Unfortunately I have to update my review to reflect my experiences in the past few months. Let me start by saying the teachers are WONDERFUL. They are special and have made my son grow with such happiness in his first year of life. I care for them all and really appreciate all their hard work and the care they show for the kids in the school. The management is a completely different story. The Director team has changed since we started and it is composed of one Director now. She does not show up for her teachers. She arrives when she feels its appropriate everyday (which is after prime drop off hours). The office is always empty. She is also never around during pick up hours. I drop off at 8am and pick up at 4pm. 5 times in the last month (Oct 3, 4, 10, 11, 23rd) we have arrived to drop off and the classroom has been out of ratio. I alert the Assistant Director who was staffed in a room and could not help. It is not her fault, she is a teacher and had no support. I ended up waiting in a room for 30 minutes one day for someone to arrive to help the teacher who had 6 babies alone. The Director was STILL not there when I walked out at 8:40a. I waited to tell her what happened and she was defensive. The response I got was "I cant work open to close everyday and you don't know my life or what is happening with teachers". No, I don't know her life, but I know I am a parent who deserves to have a Director that cares and shows up for the safety of the school. If no one is in the front office, anyone can be buzzed in the building. I messaged her & emailed one morning telling her the classroom was out of ratio. No response. I have voiced my concerns multiple times in the last 4 weeks (via email, through app and in person). My concerns have been met with zero change. The lack of management is sad. The parents love the school, the kids love the school, we all deserve a Director at this school who will be there more and do the job better.

  • Our youngest daughter went to Oak Park Building Blocks from ~1.5 years old until 4 years old, when, unfortunately, we had to move. She is 9 now, very sociable and excels academically (top percentiles in math and reading). The head start she received at OPBB from an early age played an important part in her success. What I liked about OPBB: the teachers are very kind to kids but also professional at the same time. They taught not only academics, arts and crafts but also important life skills such as setting and cleaning a dining table. Also, although I am not 100% sure, it seems they paid attention to learning about basic moral values, something that is neglected in public education these days. At least, the kids seemed to be respectful and kind. As an example, on the first day at preschool as a 4 year old, when introducing herself to the principal, she spelled out her name. He was super impressed as was I since we certainly did not teach her spelling at home. She must have learned it at OPBB. Another example, she insisted on setting and decorating a Thanksgiving dinner table by herself when she was 4 or 5. Definitely a skill she learned at OPBB. Looking back, I feel lucky that our daughter started her learning path at this daycare. It is an A+, very well organized and managed daycare.

  • Oak Park Building Blocks is the absolute best there is for your children. They CARE. They keep you updated. They take your child's safety very seriously. They have an app that sends pics and videos of your children throughout the day so you can watch these wonderful people make your kids smile. We've moved a few times and have had experience with other care givers. OPBB has been the most loving, communicative and helpful to our family. Thank you for all that you do!

  • We love our OPBB family! We've been at OPBB for 2-1/2 years now. Our oldest started at 2-1/2 and the youngest at 20 weeks old. I'm so thankful we found them. Our children are cared for by the most amazing staff!! The director and staff continue to push for new ways to improve the school, keep parents informed, and to expand the bilingual curriculum. They use Brightwheel, so we get updates and photos all day long. Highly recommend!
