I love Ms. Michele daycare center my child has a safe space while i work and they truly are a village for us, that I don't have as a single mom. Since my child's enrollment i have seen my child hit milestones and progress daily. They do daily crafts and activities not to mention outings and the great lunch prepared for the kids. I am so thankful and I highly recommend.
Karen RobinsonJun 12, 2026I love this daycare so much. My babies get out the car and knock on the door and they run in the place when they open the door for them. My 2 year old knew his ABC's before he turned 1 and my 3 year old was barely talking to them when he first started going there and now he will not shut up lol. Please do not hesitate putting your children in this daycare, they are more than that, they are an academy as well. And they will learn all the tools to help them grow in life. Thanks again Ms. Michelle and Ms. Stacy you guys are more than awesome, you are amazing and you will truly be missed.
Angela DanielsMar 12, 2022We have used Once Upon a Time for our first child since she was 8 weeks old. We love the Infant Room and everyone so far has been so pleasant and kind. I visited several other day cares in the area and none of them compared to the oversight and attention the infant room received from Ms. Paris and Ms. Sara. My daughter loves them as well and I have comfort that when I cannot be with her, she is in safe hands with care givers who care for her well being.
Michelle PodkowaJun 13, 2018The Center is a great place to send your child! If you find the accusation from 2014, the reason for not enrolling your child please email me. Feel free to check out our Facebook page, website or stop by.... Thank you, Ms. Michele
michele mcelroyAug 7, 2017This place is garbage! They hit my friends kid more than once and when my friend tried to resolve it the manager was oddly always "busy" or "out of the office" even for scheduled meetings. The staff were also rude, played it off as a joke and not accommodating at all! I also have a client who use to work there and she confirmed that they do in fact hit the kids when disciplining... I do not recommend this place at all

Questions parents ask about ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE
Is ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE a licensed child care provider in Illinois?
- Yes. ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE holds Illinois licence 457351, listed as "License issued (IL)" by the Department of Children and Family Services, licensed as a day care center in Dekalb County. Confirm current standing at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov before enrolling.
What ages does ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE accept?
- Illinois licenses ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE for children 6 weeks to 7 years during the day, with a licensed day capacity of 73. The span is what the licence permits, not a statement of which ages have places free.
What languages are spoken at ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE?
- The licence record lists English. That is what the provider reported to the state, not a guarantee that a speaker is on site at every hour.
Does this page show inspection results for ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE?
- No. Illinois publishes monitoring and licensing reports going back to 2010 through Sunshine at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects ONCE UPON A TIME CHILD CARE's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the monitoring record.
