I can honestly say that I dislike this school. The teachers are nice but some people there are too invested in your personal business. CPS was called on me for false information that came back unfounded. They called on me because I was thinking of unenrolling my child to start at a new place because they couldn't accommodate to my new work schedule; for a job that I didn't get. Over the winter break they called CPS, stating that I leave my children home to fend for themselves while I work EVERY weekend, which is not true. I WORK WHEN I WANT. I understand that they are mandateded reporters and I too am a mandated reporter because of my career. My older child was terrified and now traumatized because of these claims. My entire livelihood is taking care of people and that could've effected MY employment. I didn't have an emergency contact listed for my child but after the CPS visit, I do now. Wouldn't recommend this place unless absolutely needed.
brianca CannyFeb 20, 2025Loved my sons in home teacher! But when we first moved to the school not only did they say the bus only turned right but they judge us right off the bat. They didn't take the time to speak with the granite city office about how are relationship was with the staff and teachers (which was very well) they had a worker come in to the school and I was cornered by dcfs (which it was found unfounded) but I felt very threatened as a parent. I feel they are very quick to call and judge a parent. The only person to apologize was coorpate! (Which I had them aware of what the school did to me and my child) But I Decided to be the better person and let my child finish his time there. My word of advice to them is to get to know a parent first before possibly ruining families and causing that kind of tension for the kids. Parents should feel acceptance as well as the child. I felt anger, embarrassment And heart ache for the way they went about things. I cried at his graduation party with the school because we were new and not accepted I called granite city to see if we could go to there's. but since we lived in Collinsville we could not. If I felt that way I could only imagine how my child was feeling.... but today we are accepted at a school where he has friends and we have a solid relationship with his teachers. I am happy to say my child won't have to feel those feelings ever again!
