What Illinois licensed
Illinois licenses day care and overnight care separately, so SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER is listed against each one it holds. Every figure is a ceiling the state set, not a count of places free.
- Day care, ages
- 6 weeks to 12 years
- Day care, licensed for
- 46 children
- Night care, ages
- 6 weeks to 12 years
- Night care, licensed for
- 46 children
- Languages reported
- English
An overnight capacity means Illinois approved this provider for night care. It does not say which nights are actually offered, so confirm the hours directly.

My son has now been at Smart Stuff for two full years. He truly loves his teachers and the friends he has made there. We love how they foster his interests and how he comes home excited about something new he has learned. We don’t have any family nearby and it has been an incredible to have a place where he is happy and so well taken care of.
Jeni Crone GriffinAug 17, 2025The Smart Stuff staff truly earned our trust with our son starting at only 3 months old. We always felt comfortable with him there, and they helped him work on developmental milestones as excitedly as us. They also send plenty of arts and crafts home which was great. We ultimately moved him to a daycare closer to our home once he was older, but we highly appreciate everything they did for us.
Danny BurkeOct 31, 2024Smart Stuff was great for our 2-year-old. They helped us get the ball rolling (and stay rolling!) for our LO to use the potty. It was convenient for us to bike to and Donovan playground is a block away. We loved the teachers and were grateful to also meet a lot of other parents at pick up/drop off. Highly recommended.
Andrew MackMay 9, 2024Being a first time mom putting your child in day care at just 3 months of age during a pandemic was so tough. However, Smart Stuff took amazing care of my little one and made the transition as smooth, safe, and supportive as possible. My goal was to find a safe and caring place for my child during work. Not only did we find this in Smart Stuff, but my child received incredible developmentally appropriate education, too. My kiddo is two and already knows her alphabet, colors, months of the years, can count past 20, and speaks in paragraphs. She also receives fun experiences like going to the library, splash parks, and field trips. The teachers have been so instrumental in supporting all the major toddlerhood transitions, such as switching to solids and potty training. The teachers are kind, responsive, and competent. We could not be happier with our experience at this center!
Jennifer HarveyAug 2, 2023Smart Stuff has been an invaluable resource for our family. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, and great with communication. Their curriculum is engaging and inclusive. Our daughter has made good friends there. The center is a true asset to the community.
Emily Moorhead-WallaceJul 21, 2022Our one and a half year old son has attended smart stuff for almost a year and he loves it. We've seen significant growth in his social, physical, and language development while there. All the staff is great, you get updates throughout the day, and they've been great throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Sadly, our son will be leaving since we're moving, but felt I should share our experience for any parents looking for a loving place for their child to attend.

Questions parents ask about SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER
Is SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER a licensed child care provider in Illinois?
- Yes. SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER holds Illinois licence 511411, listed as "License issued (IL)" by the Department of Children and Family Services, licensed as a day care center. Confirm current standing at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov before enrolling.
What ages does SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER accept?
- Illinois licenses SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER for children 6 weeks to 12 years during the day, with a licensed day capacity of 46. The span is what the licence permits, not a statement of which ages have places free.
Does SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER offer overnight child care?
- Yes. Illinois licenses SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER for 46 overnight children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Illinois licenses day and night care separately, so an overnight capacity means the state approved the provider for it. Confirm the hours actually offered with the provider.
What languages are spoken at SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER?
- The licence record lists English. That is what the provider reported to the state, not a guarantee that a speaker is on site at every hour.
Does this page show inspection results for SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER?
- No. Illinois publishes monitoring and licensing reports going back to 2010 through Sunshine at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects SMART STUFF LEARNING CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the monitoring record.
