  • My children have been attending Smiley's since they opened and they receive phenomenal care there. The teachers truly love the kids, it's clean, and the small size has greatly reduced my children's illnesses compared to the previous large center we attended. I would recommend this center to anyone who asks. Thank you, Smiley's!

  • Excellent local daycare in Hudson! Our granddaughter is thriving here and has learned so much having attended here since they opened. We (her mom and grandparents) have not had a single negative experience. The owner has been excellent to work with. Teachers are caring, friendly, and responsive. The app they use provides parents with regular updates and communication. Very CLEAN (shoes off), secure, new facility with a fun, fenced play area outside. Safely located between the library and grade school. Codes at the locked doors to get in with secure PIN numbers. They are cautious when illnesses are going around and will call for pickup in a timely manner. Which is great to try and maintain a healthy environment for all. Fun holiday activities are coordinated and provided for the kids. They are exposed to music, art, and other learning activities. She regularly brings home her art folder with her fun creations! She looks forward to seeing her teachers and friends each morning! Having grown daughters who attended other local daycare, we appreciate and understand all the nuances of a daycare outside of a home. Smileys is doing a great job from all we have experienced to date! I am happy to recommended them or talk more with anyone about our experience there. Thank you, Smiley’s team!

  • I did not choose this place for care of our daughter but my ex spouse did since it is located conveniently for her. I will say several of the staff are nice people. Others, like to get themselves involved in drama and a divorce court case. They turned in video of one of their own clients walking their toddler daughter out of their care as evidence that my ex spouse had provided the proper winter clothing when she had not. My ex spouse had accused me of having ticks at my house when a tick had been found on my daughter that came from this daycare. They had found a tick on her because the location of this place sits by a drainage ditch where there are a lot of weeds. Aka, "tick haven" The ipads used to sign in and out at the front entry way are out of service half of the time. There is a daycare app where the owner decides how much access to the app one spouse receives over the other. The owner made a huge deal of me wearing my shoes which were clean. When I was then told there is a sign in small enough font that says no shoes posted at the front door. I have to search for my daughter's belongings every time I pick her up from there. Her bag, shoes and drink cup are always in three places. My daughter has also had splinters from their playground in the back. There are better priced options out there, but I was forced to have these folks. A quick fake smile from the owner doesn't cut it, when it comes to what to expect for the price. The doors have been unlocked at times which I feel is a huge security risk. Door codes change, and the handle jiggles. In summary, the fact they involved themselves in my divorce really was unprofessional. To some of the friendly staff, I appreciate you and caring for my daughter. To the others, the smiley faces at Smileys don't make up for the petty.

Questions parents ask about SMILEY'S DAYCARE

Is SMILEY'S DAYCARE a licensed child care provider in Illinois?

Yes. SMILEY'S DAYCARE holds Illinois licence 627320, listed as "License issued (IL)" by the Department of Children and Family Services, licensed as a day care center in Mclean County. Confirm current standing at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov before enrolling.

What ages does SMILEY'S DAYCARE accept?

Illinois licenses SMILEY'S DAYCARE for children 6 weeks to 12 years during the day, with a licensed day capacity of 42. The span is what the licence permits, not a statement of which ages have places free.

What languages are spoken at SMILEY'S DAYCARE?

The licence record lists English. That is what the provider reported to the state, not a guarantee that a speaker is on site at every hour.

Does this page show inspection results for SMILEY'S DAYCARE?

No. Illinois publishes monitoring and licensing reports going back to 2010 through Sunshine at sunshine.dcfs.illinois.gov. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects SMILEY'S DAYCARE's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the monitoring record.
