  • We can't say enough good things about the kind of environment they've built at sticks and stones. The kids get plenty of time to explore and play, with so many thoughtful starting points for their imagination. They encourage their playfulness so well that when preschool's out and the weather's nice, they just want to go outside and play while their parents hang out. You really feel the teachers have their heart in this all the way. A Westchester gem!

  • We are a family who moved from Thailand to start a completely new chapter in life here in the United States. Everything was new for us — new environment, new culture, new people, and especially for our 3-year-old daughter, it was her very first experience entering a new social world outside of our family. As parents, we were honestly very worried because our daughter had zero English skills at the beginning. We were nervous about how she would adjust, communicate, and feel in a completely unfamiliar environment. The first reason we chose Stick & Stone Preschool was because of the convenient location and schedule close to our work. But from the very first visit, what truly touched our hearts was the warmth and kindness from the teachers and staff. They welcomed our family with so much care and understanding. During the first week, our daughter cried often because she was not familiar with new people and surroundings. It was emotionally difficult for us as parents, but we stayed strong because we wanted her to slowly adapt and experience this beautiful new world for herself. Day by day, she began coming home with stories about her teachers, friends, activities, and happy experiences at school. One of the most amazing things for us was seeing how quickly she started learning and using English naturally after attending school. But what touched our daughter the most was the love and comfort she received from her teachers. Whenever she felt scared, unsafe, or cried while playing, her teachers would always comfort her, hold her, and make her feel safe again. That emotional care meant everything to her — and to us as parents. The school also teaches kindness, sharing, and friendship, which helped our daughter grow emotionally and socially. The parent community was also incredibly kind and welcoming to our family, which made us feel even more supported during our transition. Even after we had to move and continue our journey elsewhere, our daughter still talks about her teachers and friends from Stick & Stone Preschool all the time. She often says she wants to go back because she loves her teachers and classmates so much. Sometimes, ever they even appear in her dreams. Thank you for giving our daughter not only education, but also love, comfort, confidence, friendship, and beautiful memories that our family will never forget. We will ways be grateful. ❤️

  • Being a first-time mom is already an emotional rollercoaster — but having a child right on the cutoff date for preschool? That’s a whole different level of scary. I wrestled with the decision for months. Do I selfishly keep her home one more year? Or do I let my just-turned-three-year-old — who celebrated her birthday in August — step out into the world of preschool? Was it too soon? Was she ready? Was I ready? I toured several preschools, searching for that feeling of peace about the decision. Then I found Sticks and Stones. It was local, the teachers were from our community, and something about it felt warm — so we went to their open house. From that moment on, I knew. There was no other place for my daughter. In just six short months, I have watched her grow in ways I never imagined. She thrives on the social interaction with the other children. She beams with pride over her independence. The confidence she’s building by having time away from me has been beautiful to witness. She has fallen in love with music, and her imagination has absolutely taken off. I love that they give her the space to grow, explore, and truly be a child. But what means the most to me is how they care for her. They treat her as if she were their own. She comes home bubbling over with stories about her day, never holding back a single detail. And it’s not just what I hear from her — the communication between teachers and parents is incredible. I look forward to the Friday “Peek at the Week” emails, and the random photos of her grinning ear to ear after mastering something new instantly brighten my day. Those little moments mean everything to this mama’s heart. Sticks and Stones doesn’t just feel like a school — it feels like family. My daughter loves her teachers, and I truly do too. My only complaint? I already dread the day kindergarten comes and we have to say goodbye. There will absolutely be tears in our house — probably from both of us. I honestly don’t think I would have started her so young if it weren’t for this amazing program. Thank you, Sticks and Stones, for welcoming us with open arms and loving my girl so well. We are forever grateful to be part of your family.

  • This is a special place. We absolutely love Sticks and Stones preschool! My daughter asks to go to school everyday! The teachers create a magical space for the children to learn, explore and grow. You can tell the teachers love these kids like they're their own. Cannot recommend them enough!

  • As a father to a daughter who cried everyday walking into school previously - Sticks and Stones is pure magic as are the educators who run it. My daughter has not once tried to refuse going to school in the morning and comes home with smiles and art work for days. Her communication and social emotional skills have grown 10 fold since starting here and I wish we had known about this gem of a school sooner. To say we are savoring our last few months with Sticks and Stones is an understatement. There is no denying how much these women love our children.

  • This preschool was recommended to me from one of the “moms” groups I was in. I am so happy we followed this lead. Our son has had a wonderful year here at Sticks & Stones. The teachers are caring and attentive, but also let the kids take the lead on adventures in the classroom and outdoors. Sticks & Stones is a special place. We 100% recommend to any parents looking for a preschool for their child/children.
