We are so glad we chose The Gardner School, it’s been the best experience. The school provides a great community for parents, and the teachers (Ms Kayla! Ms Autumn!) are the most wonderful partners in our daughter’s growth and development.
Melinda Dal CorobboFeb 22, 2026Our son loves his infant classroom and teachers, Ms. Lochne and Ms. Emma! Also, the facility is clean and everyone on the staff is warm and welcoming. We feel great leaving our son at TGS Ravenswood.
Scott MainquistFeb 9, 2026My two kids attend this school, and we’ve had a wonderful experience. My son is in the Pre-K classroom with Ms. Kristina, who is a kind, structured, and dedicated teacher. I’ve seen great progress in my 4-year-old. He can write his name, recognize the alphabet, and count up to 20 in both English and Spanish. I really appreciate how well-informed I am as a parent. All communication, updates, and photos are shared through an app, which makes it easy to stay connected to his day. I also love that the kids spend time outdoors whenever possible, usually it’s at Chase Park and the school’s playground. My son also participates in the enrichment program, soccer, which he absolutely loves. As for my first child, who graduated from The Gardner last summer and is now in Kindergarten with CPS, I’m very grateful for the summer camp and drop-in days when CPS is closed. It’s a huge help for working parents. Overall, this school has been a great experience for our family, and I highly recommend it.
Jesse BensenJan 3, 2026I can find enough words to describe this school. All staff are so friendly and kind. Ms. Kim, Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Kristina are something special. I saw one review that they are giving kids screens which is really not true. They use tablets only to update parents about kids. I wish I found this school sooner for my older one.
Marijana PraŝčevićNov 5, 2025I’m writing this review not to shame or hurt feelings but because I was a parent navigating selecting a daycare while living out-of-state relying on reviews and virtual tours. Honestly, this school does not deliver on the promises and expectations it shares. My experience was only with preschool classrooms so please take with grain of salt for other age groups. Firstly, my daughter was placed in a room with a very cold and disinterested teacher. Bad attitude and irritated by child and the job. On nearly every day the first week of school, I walked in to all teachers (including assistants) sitting around while kids where planted in front of an iPad watching shows despite being told there was little to no screen time. A majority of the teachers never welcomed my daughter in the room leading to tough dropoff and tears. Same with leaving the school, I would have to approach the teacher to say hello and ask how her day was, ext. In the first week, I also found this teacher did not agree with the physical activity and outside time requirements so her kids got 1 30 min playtime while they were supposed to get 2 45-min sessions. We did end up getting good support from the directors and having a classroom shift on week two after an awful first week. This at least made us more comfortable with the care in our final weeks at the school. However, similar themes remained, on most occasions I witness the kids entertaining themselves with unengaged teachers sitting or sitting around. I watched on multiple occasions kids cry without may interaction with a teacher. And the screen time continued with me Rachel, Elmo and bears. While my child was safe at this school, they certainly did not deliver on the promises of the program. While I’ve been told from other parents the experience really depends on your teacher, that’s not a fair thing. Gardner needs to hire teachers whom are passionate about supporting children, they need to nurture kids, not just provide a safe environment. The quality of this program was that of a park districts program however the cost differential is massive. I recommend Gardner evaluate this location and staffing for the betterment of the children enrolled, and if you’re looking for a daycare that offers truly amazing care for the price tag. There are much better. I’m week one on a new center and immediately at ease.
Megan McDonaldAug 21, 2025My 4 mo son's teachers are so amazing, and it's made this transition into daycare so much easier. We know that he's in such great care and in an enriching environment. He is excited to see his teachers at dropoff, and we love all the updates throughout the day.
