We struggled with childcare for the first 2.5 years of our daughter’s life and I was grappling with potentially having to quit my job until we found Goddard. My daughter is 4.5 now and I can’t imagine her being anywhere else. From the first interview, everything about Goddard has been wonderful. I remember thinking during the interview it didn’t seem possible that the director, Sue, really knew each kid individually like was being shown. I just didn’t think a sense of care and community like that was possible given our previous experiences, but over time, I’ve seen that’s just the way they do things here. That level of care is the way here at Goddard. The staff are knowledgeable and kind, and they know most if not all of the students by name whether they are in their class or not. My daughter has cycled through a few classes as she’s aged and every single one has been great. She absolutely thrives at Goddard and loves everything about it; it’s one of her favorite places to be. She has learned so much in her time here – growing leaps and bounds both intellectually and emotionally. They do so many fun activities and she asks me every morning what fun thing is in store that day – especially in summer! School leadership puts so much thought into fun and adventure for the kids. My daughter is well known, appreciated, safe, and loved, and we couldn’t ask for anything more. She comes home every single day excited to tell us about her day, and excited to go back the next. She has one year left before kindergarten, and I’m honestly already heartbroken. If Goddard still offered kindergarten here, we would sign her up in a heartbeat. If we ever have more kids, enrolling them in Goddard will be one of the easiest decisions we’ll make.
Samantha WolberJun 15, 2026Our family highly recommends the Goddard School in Elgin. Our daughter has been in the infant room there for the past 5 months, and the level of care she receives daily is so reassuring. The teachers and staff do a great job of providing a caring, safe, and clean atmosphere for the children to learn and grow.
Ron BurtonFeb 12, 2026I’m going to start by saying I LOVE THE GODDARD SCHOOL!!! When you are able to build trust and a family like relationship with literally everyone in the building you know this is where you feel happy and safe to send your pride and joy! I go way back with Goddard. I have a 21 and 16 year old who both went there . When I left after graduation I told Sheryl if I ever have another kid I will be back… well 10 years later here I am . Starting from just the phone call thinking I would have to remind everyone who I was and who my children were Sheryl answered the phone asking me right away how my daughters were by their first names . I was shocked that she remembered. Everyone works so hard in building the best relationships for you to feel comfortable that you are leaving your child there anywhere from 3-8 hours. I wasn’t ready to to part ways with my little guy but after speaking with Sheryl and Sue and the level of comfort they gave me it definitely eased my heart. All of my feelings were valid and it wasn’t transactional it was we are here for you when you are ready . The teachers what can I say other then amazing?! My child has sever food allergies and they make sure everything is safe for him at all times! They know just how to make my son smile and feel relaxed coming in the class especially on those hard to get there mornings. When you open those front doors you get greeted with a warm smile and a happy hello not to mention while you’re walking down the hallway and every window you pass the teachers look up and just wave to you even if your child isn’t in their classroom. It’s truly a family feel and I will always have a special place in my heart for the Goddard family! I will definitely have my child here from now through kindergarten and can’t wait to see him grow in every single classroom! Now he asks me why school is over when I pick up vs why are we going to school because of great staff and teachers like he has currently Ms.Alicia and Ms. Brie . He can’t wait to see them everyday. I know I made the right choice coming back nothing has changed in how I felt 18 years ago sending my oldest to now . My son has grown so much in the last 3 months . Truly best decision I made!
diana ochanaFeb 10, 2026Been with the school for the last 10 years. Staff always has the best interest of the kids at heart. My kids have enjoyed their time with Goddard.
Eddie A RamosFeb 10, 2026Goddard has been absolutely wonderful with my 4 year old. The teachers care for her like she’s their own! The director, Sue always has a smile on her face and is happy and friendly, and the owner, Sheryl is around almost everyday! She’s loves every kid that attends and knows them all by name!! Sheryl and Sue love their job and it’s clear! Everyone is kind and caring and really helped my daughter flourish after a rough experience with another childcare. We loooove Goddard!!!💙
Pam England GalloisFeb 9, 2026So often people take the time to complain about one’s service or attitude, etc. They don’t realize the importance of complementing and commending these things, and how important that all is. I am a GiGi. My grandchild started this year 2025 / 2026 at the GODDARD SCHOOL ELGIN, IL. I was helping my daughter out making calls, reading reviews of a few different schools. From the first moment of my phone call I spoke with a live person. No answering machine. The director (Sue) was the doorbell to that school! After just speaking with her, she was focused and engaged in and on our call, she gave me the time, the courtesy, and even answered before I asked, all the questions that I had first written down to ask her etc… A little bit after that, I spoke with my Daughter she set up a meet and greet / tour for a few days later. This turned into almost 2 hours in person with Goddard school of Elgin. While there, we were able to meet the owner, (Sheryl). During and after the tour we met all of the Staff, and got to view, engage & see how things are run. We liked that there were 2 teachers per room. By going over the curriculum all age appropriate to meeting and engaging with both teachers in each room, we were impressed by not only the facility but all staff in the way their tone of voice was and how they communicated with the children & babies. The whole atmosphere felt right. The cleanliness of the school also was outstanding! Over the last couple weeks I had to make several unannounced visits for various reasons. At those times there was no sign of unhappiness, sadness, or crying. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. However my grandchild for a couple weeks now is doing Wonderful! Everybody has a great Something the only way to know is experience it yourself. Call, go in, talk, listen and see for yourself. It was highly recommended to me. I highly Recommend Goddard School of Elgin, IL. Thank you! GiGi
